moron has a better ring to it

good point on the torx - but I'm pretty sure your typical bmx rats response to that would be "this chain sukcs! it uses one of thouse star tool thingyies, i don't have that! now i have to spend my weed money on tools!" fuck I'm getting salty

but that reminds me that i need to pick myself up a nice t-handle t25 at some point

you're probably a hamfisted moron and completely deserving of it if you manage to round out a 3mm allen broach.

On the topic of rawing parts...

How would I go about rawing the springfield brakes?

I assume the spring will need to come out, is that possible.

What else do I need to do before dipping these brakes in a load of chemicals? Or even if I should?

strip em down to just the arms & spray/soak in oven or drain cleaner. clean em real good with white spirits afterwards so they don't oxidize so easily from the left over chemicals.

roadies love really lightweight shit, even at the expense of comfort or efficiency, just look at the slew of manufactures that produce unpadded, rigid carbon saddles.

but with a 1mm thick shell and flexible rails i bet that is loads more comfortable than some other offerings

yesss definitely grease your seat post. you don't know frustration until you have to unseize a seized seat post.

i always grease the steerer, makes getting the stem on and off easier. never really thought to do the bar clamp tho, i usually leave that clean and dry

I've had sidewall problems with conti tires before, grand prix something-or-anothers, haterskins, ultra sports. all sidewall blowouts or weird deformed casings after a few hundred miles, never noticed threads like that coming off though. but i have had it happen on other tires, no failures in those cases though
