Bring it down here. I'll check it out then let's go to the range.

Kilroy, nice photos. Once my 1911 is dialed in I want to go to some competitions.

Where are you, LA?

Really, really want to buy a 10/22 this week, but I'll probably spend my money on other things...

Like they already said its just like talking about bikes. Knives use certain steels, and materials just like bikes do. Talking about a nice knife over a cheap one is just like
talking about a nice part over a bad one. Say for instance a $100 knife might use S30v, where as a $30 knife might use 9Cr18Mo. Sure they both cut but the S30v will hold an edge a lot longer.
This is just like buying bars or a frame, a $300 frame will be made out of nice 4130 chromoly, where as a $80 frame might be made out of high tensile steel.

Benchmade has some nice designs but I'm not into their prices and quality control.

What does everyone have for knives?  I'm in the market for a quality one that I can carry around on a daily basis.

I've got a Spyderco D2 para military its the nicest knife I have every handled besides the Sprint run orange g10 military man was that thing smooth to bad I sold it.
I would look into Spyderco they have some of the best quality control and designs out there. I own one Kershaw and it's a great knife,
but Spyderco I my favorite company by far. Once I get some extra cash I'm going to pick up a Strider, probably an SNG.

remember just because it has a removable mag and a pistol grip does not mean its a assault rifle. Only full autos truly are AW's
Well true I guess.
Though in California an "assault rifle" is anything with a flash hider removable mag and pistol grip.

here is a better picture of the ar on the new pelican 1700

The chainsaw bayonet is real if thats what you're talking about, yeah pretty stupid but it is real.
Anyways nice looking gun man, I'm liking the carry handle sight setups lately.
Especially since good optics get pretty damn spendy.

Can someone explain the appeal to owning guns?  Is it to flex your nuts?  To feel manly?

Could it possibly be because they are fun to shoot?
No.. probably not.

Some knives that I own/have owned, I quite miss the orange military.
I have more but I'm trying to sell them all to buy a strider.
