Just finished my winter bike for work, am London bicycle courier still. Pure dopium:

Bought second hand as a complete for 160 quid but all that remains from that is the frame, forks, front wheel, clamp and seat. Good deal!

Frame: Dolan 54 inch precursor with 1 inch headtube (super old)
Forks: Dunno, mostly carbon and one inch

Bars: Brick Lane Bikes Eastwood
Stem: Brick lane bikes 60mm reach
Headset: Chris King one inch
Bar tape: Brooks microfibre, Brooks bar ends

Lever: Gold finger
Cable: generic
Caliper: Shimano Sora
Shoes: Evans
Pads: Swiss stop blues

Cranks: Omniums, 165mm 48t
BB: Ominum
Pedals: Oddy Grandstands (have these on all three of my bikes so I suppose that makes them my favourite bike part)
Straps: Homemade by someone else out of car seat belts
Chain: Izumi track

Front wheel: Specialised Sirrius (actually very good), halo skewer alllen key
Rear wheel: Halo, 17t Condor sprocket
Tyres: Schwalbe Durano Plus, 25's

Seat: cheap Bontrager which is fine but will probs get changed to a Prologo, but no rush
Post: unbranded Kappa ally single bolt, probs getting changed to a thomson if one comes up cheap
Clamp: dunno
Bottle opener: Brixton Cycles (they had a AC/DC rebranding, you know, for those about to ride...)

Top tube cover: YNOT
Drop out inserts: Dolan, cost me thirty quid as the bike came without

Got a mate to respray it, another for the stickers.

I love it. Went a bit over budget but fuck it.

Where have all the good men gone and where are all the Gods? Where's the street-wise Hercules to fight the rising odds? Isn't there a white knight upon a fiery steed? Late at night I toss and I turn and I dream of what I need. I need a hero, I'm holding out for a hero 'til the end of the night. He's gotta be strong and he's gotta be fast and he's gotta be fresh from the fight.

Kelly Clarkson?

Er, Kevin Beercan I believe. He has a lovely voice but a bit feminine tbh. Is there anything that man can not do?

The Bike Shop / Re: What shoes are you riding in?

Tk max or whatever do vans, dc's and etnies, I got some new etnies for £15 but you need to keep popping in to see what they have. The best stuff is at the bottom. Vans are a bit pricier, £30 ish but they usually have them, the other two are a bit rarer but like £20 ish.

I always used to swear by bmx/ skate shoes for grip but since I've been using oddy grandstands even my Adidas (totally not skate/ bmx shoes) grip really well. Probs not best for padding/ protection but I doubt you go sticking your toes between the forks and tyres, tabletops etc more your thing aren't they?

Anyhoo, all three of my bikes have grandstands and they're fucking comfy whatever shoes I wear.

Go on Tom, give oddy one more chance.

: )

That's kind of a shame, I genuinely thought that there was just hardly any parts coming out anymore as it was pretty on it, but it did sort of kill the 'bike shop' forum in here.

Hope this means a revival for here.

Can you return either the cranks or the other bits to get it all fitting?

If not maybe sell the bits that don't fit to a buddy for a bit less so it's not a complete loss?

What a bitch tho, I thought parts in bmx were more compatible nowadays?

Email profile tho and see what they say and why. Then tell us.

Not even the 'the merged' can be bothered to cover it.
