The Bike Shop / Re: Odyssey Thunderbolt Woes

The bunnyhop method always works on my Twombolts. I use grease instead of antiseize despite knowing antiseize is better just because grease comes off my hands/clothes better. Coming from working on cars, I fucking hate getting a surprise glob of antiseize on myself. Morons use it on lug nuts when you should never do that, then next thing I know EVERYTHING IS PAINTED SILVER AND IT WON'T WIPE OFF.

Tall bars, there is NOTHING out there for 25x7.75 anymore because of stupid 12 year olds buying bars that are way too big for them cuz they're cool

Halflink chains

1pc seat/post combos

Overly large tires and the fact that 2.1s are impossible to find when both of my frames pretty much require that size

36h EVERYTHING. I like 48h in the rear because it needs way less maintenance and I can't feel a weight difference

Drivers smaller than 10t

Compression bolts that do not accept a 6mm allen

Anything that takes odd size allen bolts - I'm looking at you Profile

As far as I can remember KHE drivers were always available in either 9t or 11t. And the Poverty and Odyssey Reloader were 10t. Poverty 10t would work if you had a shim to take up the space for the 2nd bearing (1 6902 vs 2 6802s) it didn't have but good luck finding one. I sheared the threads in mine and that's why my Poverty wheel is sitting in my mom's storage unit being useless.

I really like how it has a solid border on the top and the seats, never see that

Sell and Swap / Wanted: 2.10 high pressure tires
« on: July 28, 2015, 10:53:36 PM »
I need some cheap mixed street/trails use 2.10 tires since I can't fit larger on either of my frames. 80psi minimum, would really like tan/whitewalls. No slick style tires. Path/Aitken/Ross, FAF, Kink Vela, GLH, etc.

I have the paypals

This will be the hub that converts me to 36h and 9t instead of 48h 10t. I'm a little bummed there's no 10t option but I doubt it'd sell well.

I was all set with my bike and now Odyssey & G-Sport are convincing me I need to buy new parts. Next year when I'm not building a car...

CNC cut this out of 1" Sintra with brushed aluminum laminate at work. Had the frame left over as a screw up (has a few scratches client noticed) from the previous person who had my job and I had to remake it, so I had the inside material left over. It'd probably cost me $200-300 in material for this and we'd charge a client out the ass. It's 39x39"

CNC laser cut this, about 2ft tall. Doing a small batch for sale if anyone's interested.

I need to make more shit in the future to cover my apartment with.

This summer I'd be interested in trading shit I make for shit other people make out of materials I don't work with. Need more cool things on the walls.

Whoops I read that post wrong. That bar looks pretty sweet. Why so much angle on the edge though?

If people want them, I'm up to start taking orders for dickbutts. But I can only do plastic. I should see if that material flexes enough to wrap around a headtube...

That pool table looks professional. And I wish I could work with leather like that.

I got access to a CNC laser cutter/engraver recently.

The metallic silver is also adhesive backed. I probably shouldn't be trusted with this technology...

My 4 pawl driver skipped way more than my 3 pawl ever did.

Torx is the worst invention. Causes so many problems on cars.
I've never rounded one.  I vaguely recall learning at some point that they resist rounding better than hexs.
In theory. Add in rust, over torquing, and parts stretching/compressing and they're way more of a hassle than they're worth. Unless you use an impact gun to remove them, there's a good chance of stripping because they do NOT like to be used with a ratchet or L shaped key. They like perfect rotational force whereas allens seem to be more ok with a lever being used. At least in my experience anyways. I run into a lot of problems with Torx bolts on automotive brakes.

I'm stoked on the coaster and the pedals. I didn't think there'd be enough interest to develop new metal ones. My Reloader and Trailmixes will need to be replaced someday.
