anything wrong with running a sprocket like this?

I like that it keeps the crank sprocket boss away from the sprocket. I've seen a few kids running spline drive sprockets with the boss just rubbing there.

I was doing this with my Powerbites (+ headless bolt) recently, you'll be fine

Tiny bit more torsional stress on the axle but not a huge worry, be better to run the crank closer in if you can, but you gotta do what you gotta do to let the cranks clear the chainstays...
