grinding out my dropouts?
sans.terre:
im looking to take my dropouts in just a hair so i can slam my wheel and have room to take off chain.
axel slams at 13.5 ...maybe take it in to like 13.4?
anyone do this still? do i just go at it with a grinder? any tips?
it's not rocket science, eh? keep some meat near the welds and dont go crazy?
GUMP_:
Hardest thing will be getting both sides even
pegs:
you don't need a grinder to take off that much, just buy a cheapo set of files. piss easy and you won't fuck your frame up.
mark it out so you've got lines to work to. after that you'll know when it's even by standing the bike up on it's bars and checking your tyre clearance either side
Sasha:
Marker pen and a decent round file. Easy peasy.
sans.terre:
am i mistaken in thinking the sides dont really need to be (horizontally) totally even?
since the wheel will be held back some, I dont need to stress getting them right on the mark? just so long as i can take out a link from my chain and still get my wheel off.
