Nice, wouldn't mind doing a bit of touring this summer myself.

I need a full suspension bike in my life so I'm thinking about building up a Transition Scout frame. Has anyone rode one?
I'll be swapping over the Pikes and X1 gear components from my Marin but will end up buying new bars, stem, cranks and wheels. I've got Race Face Turbine in mind, and Stans Arch wheel set but I'm not dead set on those yet. Any recommendations?

I run QR with road discs, it's absolutely fine. I think as long as you are using decent skewers, not crazy light things you'll be fine.

You owe it to that bike to slam the stem. Max bikeguide points for the Trailkings.

Fourth pair of trailkings i buy on ebay. There is brand new flatboy pedals sold with odyssey triple cage on ebay. Shippings are too much for me but someone in the us must cop those.
As for the stem i don't mess with it as it's kind of an awkward setup, 1" 1/8 stem with adapter almost clamps over the 1" steerer tube spacers and headtube is out of round so brand new headset still creaks.

Finally built up the Brother. It's really fun - taking the ferry to France on Thursday. Very excited.
edit: if people are interested, I will post a picture of it fully laden with panniers etc. I'm going to put gatorskins on too

^hot!!! now are you going to build me one? I have some measurements in mind. what kind of geometry did you use for that? I have ridden a Karate Monkey, Vassago Jabberwocky, Soma Juice, and currently a ROS 9 and I think I have an idea what I liked and didn't like about all of those frames.
