was gonna look at getting a small batch of frames made and try to help the scene out up here. all the shops charge about 50% more than the mail orders across the board and shipping costs through mail orders makes things about the same price locally.

Not true.
It can be done privately, if you know what you are doing it can be done.
However using an agent is the way to go, they can get you better prices, and really fine tune in your products.
The best things about an agent, is having them ship direct from Taiwan to your distros.

not the case, i worked for said shops, they got free shipping most of the time

yes...
plus, they (the manufacturer) appreciate people that speaks the same language more than those who doesn't. while most agents (at least those who i met) speaks english fluently with adequate technical knowledge. they should be able to help with QC coz we're not always be there.

when you make things in Taiwan, it is EXTREMELY important to keep a tight QC. most customers don't get to see what's behind the screen, that's why they can think that taiwanese made stuff are just as good as american made stuff.

i didn't see Sunday frames though, nor do i know who manufactures them.

Sunday's owned by their own corp in Taiwan, place is amazing. Cyclogic is the factory for the majority of other top brands, though.
