I was looking at a pair of supra sky tops today
http://suprafootwear.com/footwear/product/s_S18034PTD-FA09/tuf-black/

They had great ankle support and padding and were comfy as hell but I was worried about the sole pattern gripping pedals and how long they would last. Before I drop 100 bucks on a pair of shoes I would like to know if anyone else has ridden in skytops or any other supras.

it seems everyone here used them at one point (why??) they last about 1-2 months before falling apart, one kid has gone through 5 pairs and keeps buying the fuckers

They seem to be nice, other than the association with Muska and the price tag. I'd say get some of these

and maybe try the new Aaron Ross shoe?

My skater friend had supras, the sole was as thin as paper, absolutely terrible in my opinion.

Supras are some of the best shoes i've ridden next to Orchids and Nike SB's with BMX friendly grip.

anyone who drops a three figure sum of money on a pair of shoes they're going to ride in and decimate is a bit of a tool in my books....that or just just have too much money to waste

Have 3 pairs of supras, i love them. Good soles(best gel inserts), durable, and grippy. Try to get a pair of Vulks in leather, will last your forever.

I dont know about the muska highs though, my friend has a pair and they seem to be more for fashion rather than riding. I wouldnt put my money on them lasting too long.

Function over fashion, but I guess BMX doesn't know anything about that...anyone who drops a three figure sum of money on a pair of shoes they're going to ride in and decimate is a bit of a tool in my books....that or just just have too much money to waste
Well I can find them online for 70 and the way I look at it I am replacing 2 ankle braces and saving the ball of my foot from bruises.

Why not spend 3 figures on shoes, people spend more than that on tires.

I was looking at some today and found the sole super thin.

The last pair of skate shoes I bought were some adios last summer. They felt fantastic to start but I had holes in them from my pins after a month.

Really comfy and pretty grippy as well. I don't really ride in mine though because there limited edition.
I have the gold skytops. :)

those are the ugliest things I have ever layed my eyes upon. I'd buy Supras just for chillin or if I'm gonna dress up and look goood. Any supra but these.

Those are the TK signatures which are quite gross.

They look like the bastard child of a snow boot and skate shoe.

My massively swollen ankle would love a pair of those.

I'd just cover the gross straps with my jeans. Ankle support is Key.

i got a pair of supra's in april. they are still in fairly good shape. i ride every day and have trailmixes. started with pc's for the first month. mine are pretty plain just low black with the leather upper and a gold metal supra sign on the side. got em on sale and they have been my favorite shoe to ride in and have held up the best. i tear through orchids very fast and the same with loteks. they grip exceptionally well. they arent vulc though. riding in vulcanized shoes sucks.
