Basically, what I want to do is type stuff on my laptop using the openoffice word processor and then email it to myself so I can open it on a school computer with MS Word (so i can print it or work on it in class or whatever).

Is this possible?

Yer its fully compatible, just save it as a .doc

Just hit save as, and save it as a Microsoft Office 2007, or older MS Office file.

Yes, there is a difference between a 2007 and 2003 Office Document.
