Macaroni Sandwich

I have a PC that is not connected to the internet, nor has it ever been.
Its running windows XP, intel 2.7ghz processor, 758mb RAM, and it will randomly turn off and sometimes have startup problems.
Everything is stock besides an extra 512mb stick added to the 256 one that came with it (or maybe vice versa, cant remember).
Anyhow, for example, today I hooked it back up for the first time in about six or seven months. The problem was happening then, but I just never fixed it. Anyhow, I went to install iTunes from the installation disk from my iPod, and it worked fine. Then when loading my library, it just turned off.
Reboot, and it loads to a black screen with a cursor.
Reboot, nothing.
Reboot, nothing.
Etc.
Eventually it decides it wants to work again and works for a bit, then it randomly turns off once more.
Reboot, nothing.
Reboot, beeping noise.
So I mess with the ram and put in what was originally in it, and that didn't solve it. Problem still exists.
Any idea of how I can fix this problem? Power supply maybe?
