I grow orchids. I make hybrids, been instrumental in breeding rare species, I've had pictures in magazines and I have some in a legit hardback scientific book.

Currently my main focus is breeding this species, Dendrobium cuthbertsonii. I picked up on the work of a friend who is chair of computer engineering or nanofabrication at UC Berkley. He developed the protocol for tetraploid conversion in the species. In using mutagens the last couple generations and finally getting some undergrads to confirm 4N plants. Breeding these confirmed tetraploids is going to give me a good population for selective breeding. I have about 40 flasks growing in the lab currently. That accounts for like 5% or less of what I do.

Bike mechanic right now. Looking for some sort of trainee CNC engineer role. When I was growing up nobody told me that you had to get a job where you actually earned enough money to live.

Currently a Volunteer Coordinator for a large charity. I manage a group of mentors who work with long term unemployed young people (out of work for more than one year).

Trained as a youth worker so have lots of experience in face-to-face work with young people and family work. Hoping to move into a role lobbying the government to improve policy for young people.

I ran ahead a bit and hid, dropped my jeans and took my top off and started chasing them whilst spraying beer all over them and making weird noises.

I'm an account manager for an Event Technology company.

Basically we install internet infrastructure for temporary events.  We mostly do big music festivals, but also do corporate events, athletic events, and product launches.  We provided all the internet related services for the media, live stream, and on stage devices for the Amazon Kindle Fire launch a couple years ago.

It's stupid stressful, and I'm considering finding a new job.  I've got 65 jobs on the books for this year that I'm account managing and project managing, and am just getting really burnt out on it.

I go work some of them sometimes too.  Like I was on site in Chicago for 2 weeks for the NFL Draft this year working 16 hour days while I had mono...  and I did about a week on site at Firefly Fest a little while back.
