joint pain after drinking?
« on: December 18, 2014, 05:32:53 PM »
Last night I went out to drink with some buddies and get some pizza. Got pretty forked up and everything was going good until this morning. I woke up with my knuckles and elbows feeling like they needed Phil Wood grease. I was drinking mostly beers and a few shots of rum, and it was cold as tits out. I didn't drink much water until the morning but today I've had probably 40 fl oz and I'm still in pain. Any of you experience this?

Any abdominal pain? If so, check your liver. Certain liver illnesses can cause muscle and joint ache throughout the body, especially after food (this could include drink, I am unsure).

I'll wake up with soreness in my hip/asscheek area after a night of heavy drinking from time to time. Probably just dehydration honestly.

Basically too much of anything that is hard for your body to break down causes inflammation & joint pain is a common symptom of an inflammatory response in the body. These symptoms can feel amplified in your beat up joints.
Bristow is right about the liver, if it's not happy you/your body won't feel happy. Food, alcohol, drugs/meds, etc are largely broken down by the liver. The harder your liver works to break shit down the more internal inflammation. At you age it should just be temporary effects of doing it up too hard from time to time, but things do add up.
Also, when you are really drunk you may pass out but you don't get real rest/sleep generally. When you sleep shitty your body does not heal itself as well or quickly as usual.  So I guess  too too many beers + Bmx = sore joints

I drank lots of tasty gin last night and I'm also in a horrid state today. Everything aches and I'm shaking like a shitting dog. I guess it is just the price you pay for being a fucking badass.

Think it has to do with your body trying to process the formaldehyde out of your system as its essentially a poison. That's why in reality, things like hangovers are guaranteed and there's no cure for them.

Another reason for pain and shakes, is that alcohol is quick to make your body dependent on it, so you're going through alcohol withdrawal with those symptoms as well

Any time I've been sore a day after drinking (besides typical hangover shit) my jacket and jeans from the night before are trashed because I took a digger at some point the other night. Maybe you  and caught yourself weird and not think anything of it at the time because you were wasted.
