I finally got round to doing a job I've been putting off for absolutely ages (probably almost a year now). Changed my broken rear brake/STI lever on my road bike, put an Ultegra front mech on and set it up then changed the bar tape. Surprisingly all went without any problems at all apart from the gear cable being fiddly as fuck to get through the lever. It's a christmas miracle! The bar tape is a bit messy though so I'll re-wrap it when I get some more electrical tape. Doesn't look too bad for my first attempt ever.

Went and rode some trails/jumps for the first time on my mountain bike. I've never been any good in the air, even on my bmx, but I was doing ok for the first time. Some hucker was there and was having me follow him over some of the smaller jumps. Was going fast and hit a small double, thought I was going to case so I sucked the bike up, ended up manualing down the landing and being thrown off sideways. Landed smack on my tailbone and whipped my head backwards onto the hard packed trail, heard my helmet smack. So glad I had one on. My first real crash on the mtb. Two things I'm taking away, always wear a helmet and I still have no fucking bike control in the air at all.

aired the tires up, cleaned some dust off from it sitting unattended for a month and thrashed at chenga world for the first time! the last time i rode an indoor skatepark was vans at the milpitas mall in california in 2002 shortly before my physical and mental health both failed on me and i had to quit riding. last night was fucking awesome though, i was riding loose and sketchy and i have a feeling that i was the oldest dude on a bike (i'm 31 in march) but i couldn't give less of a fuck because i was smiling and laughing the whole time. it cracks me up to be able to answer a kid's question of "how long have you been riding?" with "longer than you've been alive". damn i just realized that my bmx career is now old enough to buy itself a porno magazine and a pack of smokes and enlist in the armed services.

Went to the park and had a blast because 1. I was able to ride pain free since separating my shoulder last month and 2. It was close to 50 degrees today on LI. Looking forward to another warm day tomorrow!

Got lost on my MTB and put stickers on my BMX

Got my warrantied cranks back. Put them on backwards and noticed when I tried to put pedals on. Undid them tightened them down and realized they weren't inline. Succeeded 3rd try. Patched a tube. Put a spoke in. Did a bunch of box jump tricks.

Trimmed my axles for the first time ever. One side turned out good.
