I've had a removable mount snap once as well when I was adjusting my brakes. Fuck those mounts.

I've been brake less since the existence of removable mounts. And I think it's gonna stay that way.

Just got a custom FBM frame, so i doubt ill be buying another frame anytime soon. But i REALLY like what Alone are doing, i know alot of companies bitch about it being a pain in the arse having so many options but i dont care it should be done the way Alone are doing it!

i was thinking about buying another set of mounts and some jb weld, but i'm still pretty fucking paranoid about this now. My other option is to call this dude that welds his own frames (look up stout bikes in houston) and have him weld me some mounts.

I've never had a problem with these brakes before. I emailed Joe already, hopefully once the barcodes come out I can get one with welded mounts. I'm riding front brake only for now, if i get a barcode i'm just going to give this frame to whoever needs it i guess.

I rawed and polished the Ruben.
I haven't cleared it yet, I'm trying to decide if I want to throw a trans color on it.
Any suggestions on if I should clear it as is or throw down some trans paint?

Did you even sand the frame or just buff it?

Oh, and I've been gathering up donated / extended loan parts for my good friend who had his bike stolen a little while back, I've got to open up some forks tomorrow and pick up my chainbreaker then all it needs is a tube and a couple washers :D

Today I re-built the freecoaster hub to an Odyssey Hazard Lite rim, installed Primo Stricker PC pedals and prepared it to be ridden tomorrow.

The whole bike is REALLY nice for being "free".

As far as my bike goes, I pulled the wheels off and on between skateparks/heading home and I worked on 2-3 other peoples bikes today along with once again proveing that most of my local bike shop employees know jack shit about bikes.

No sanding at all it was rawed with stripper and I polished it up with fine steel wool and used mothers polish and a foam buffing wheel and went to town on it.

that looks really nice.

as for the trans color: i think that depends a bit on the parts that you plan to use for the build.
