I've been trying to figure out why my zodiac cap keeps rubbing and I can't figure it out. Sucks because it looks awesome and I can use it.

that happened to me with my eclat headset, you just need to get some micro-spacers.  The ones I have are basically like little paper thin 1 1/18 rings that go between the bearings and cap.

Don't the Zodiac spacers come with a bunch of little shims for this reason?

Plan B would be to just use sandpaper on a flat surface to make the lip a little shorter...

I've tried using all 3 spacers that came with it and it still rubs. I'm not even sure where it rubs. I'm using the WTP headset which is similar to the eclat. I'll just buy a new FSA headset soon and it should work fine. I've had the wtp for like 2 years already anyway.

Did big things on my bike last night/this morning.

I went from from 4 steel pegs and a straight cable (26.2 lbs), to pegless brakeless and removed my hub guard (probably <24lbs). Put on new (2nd hand) tree sequoia bars (up from branch bars, .5" taller, 1.5" wider, angled further forward), with new long necks, new odyssey aitken railed seat, dropped my thomson post down about 3/4" so my seat won't touch the ground when the bike is flipped over (in an effort to make it last longer), new madera seatpost clamp (had to go buy a 3/16" allen as this is the only part in the world that uses this wrench), new stainless ceramic headset bearings (free 2nd hand off a road bike at work), new 9t driver for my ratchet hub (now running 28-9 instead of 28-10), new specialized compound 2.1 rear tire (about 1/2lb lighter than my old glh, and retails for $20), and did some touch up coats of paint on my frame.

it feels like a new bike. I'm loving the bigger bars for everything except tables so far. no handers are about 10x easier.

Second ride on my second benny l. Weather's been shit or i've had other things to attend to.

360 out of the first bank, downside nosepick whip on the second.

backwards manny out of the bank, curve around to 180 to half cab to 180 down a small set.

tried some one footed manny's.

Rode for the first time in 2 months last weekend and this week, damn it feels good.

Learnt oppo 180 feeble smiths to fakie, stoked.
I can still do toothy hangers over ledges at will, stoked.
Haven't yet blown up this re-mix, stoked.

For hangers start low on the ledge and let the rear end come up if that makes sense. Gives you a longer grind, looks better, helps you find the balance point more.

Got new spokes and a new tree driveside guard, my buddy will be doing the lacing this time. He's the one who built my 7ka's that lasted for 4 years while being trued by him once a year. Granted they are still straight and rideable.
