I got a safe today! On sale for $450, supposedly holds 16 guns, and it's fireproof for about 30 minutes.

yeah, that would probably be a good thing :bustin:

As far as this safe goes, there's definitely no way that I could fit 16 rifles in here unless I took out all the shelves, and that kind of defeats the purpose.
I'm also puzzled by the height at which they put the "racks" for the guns. My 10/22, my VEPR and my double barrel aren't long enough to reach the rack, so they're kinda just leaning on the wall. I think it would be pretty difficult to put more than one scoped rifle in here too.

But oh well, I bought it so that crack heads wouldn't steal my guns if they came into the house for quick cash. I think it will be just fine

may I suggest Liberty safe. My buddy has one great quality and price. Hold his collection about 30 guns, ammo, and paperwork. I have helped move it what a pita

I am also looking to build an AR-15. I could like to build my own as it will be my first. I have shot my buddy's AR-15 Carbine that has the tactical adjustable stock and 16" barrel. I felt that the gun was way too small and could not get comfy looking through the scope. I have talked to Birdmang and he suggests a 20" barrel and A2 stock. I am looking for knowledge, suggestions, and kits for a build. Thanks guys

Nice safe.

Could anyone help me out?

I need a poly heat shield. I can't find any in Canada or that will ship to me.  Midway in the USA has them and so does a guy on eBay. Could someone middle man it? Both have nice stores so you can pick up something(s) while you're at it.
