What do you guys use for cleaning/lube?  I've only ever used clp and I don't really want to on my own gun.

I've actually never cleaned my guns to be honest aside from running a boresnake thru the barrel of my 1022 during breakin as recommended by Green Mountain.

Hoppes is supposed to be pretty good stuff though from what I hear.

I'd take a belt-fed 1911.

CLP is the end all be all for cleaning firearms.

Unless you shoot corrosive ammo, then you use hot water.

AR-15s love CLP and like to be ran wet...use it as lube and to clean it.

For other guns I clean with CLP and lightly lube with CLP, but I also lube with rem oil.

Alright so I'm looking for a reliable rifle that I can do some longer range target shooting with. Bolt action would be nice, and I have shot before but not very often or well hahaha... Point me in the right direction so I can do some research because its going to be a good 4 months or so before I can do any buying. Looking to spend under 1000 with a scope and bipod?

IIRC a military range is 600+yardish so probably around 300 meters would be nice, I have little experience and I'm really just looking to be able to go to a range sit down, take my time and make some clean shots... I think that should be my approximate range but I'm looking for any guidance i can get.
