The Lounge / Fan Theory (films)
« on: June 28, 2015, 01:33:36 PM »
Obviously I've had too much time on my hands but I've started looking into fan theory for films/ tv series which is where people come up with alternative meanings for films and stuff.

So far, I like these ones:

1. In 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off,' Ferris doesn't exist and is Cameron's imaginary friend like in 'Fight Club.'

2. The blue meth from 'Breaking Bad' is what starts the zombie break out in 'Walking Dead.'

3. E.T was a Jedi.

4. The 'Jetsons' and the 'Flintstones' happen at the same time in a post apocolyptic future where the rich live in the sky and the poor live on the ground imitating technology they once used.

5. James Bond is just a code name.

Do you know any good ones?

The Bike Shop / quick crank questions
« on: June 02, 2015, 11:22:24 AM »
1. do i NEED a profile crank puller to remove profile cranks? i have euro bb

2. i have a pedal stuck in the insert of a powerbite and have tried tightening it more and then undoing x10... what's next?

3. because i'm a complete boner i put my (sprocket bolt) profile's on the wrong way and only just noticed when i put some new pedals on. it's been fine tho so apart from the pedals being the wrong way round is it a problem? it doesn't seem to be although i will change them round anyway.

The Bike Shop / cruiser or 24 advice
« on: May 19, 2015, 02:38:43 PM »
since i saw them i wanted to try out what a big bmx would be like (are they 24's or cruisers? what do you call them?) and now i've come across someone who has one for sale

it's definitely a raw haro backtrail frame and forks, i found a pic off the net and it looks the same (below) but i'll get one of the actual thing this week and post it up

all the parts on it look pretty shite or very old but i have most of the bits i'd want to exchange on it in my spares box

i think i'd only want the frame, forks, wheels, tyres from it but the guy's asking £275 all in, i think i'll haggle him down for just the bits i want

the front wheel was a quanda hub if i remember...

what is the going rate for frame, forks, wheels, tyres of this size second hand?

do you use normal bmx bars on them or smaller ones?

if you have one, do you run pegs on it?

any advice or whatever would be good really

this isn't the bike on offer but it is the same frame and forks

The Bike Shop / threadworthy: hubguards
« on: May 15, 2015, 06:08:30 PM »

so since i've been bmxing, hubguards have come a long way

from nothing except glands (which lets be honest are plug ugly, EXCEPT THE NEW ONES) really have done the job without spreading the frame etc

and now everyone (at last) seem to do them for their own hubs, threadable, slot on, etc

the merrit ones seem interesting but maybe the gland 4's already make them obsolete

thoughts? how much is too much for a guard? they are pricey for specific ones but arguably worth it

plus, plastic or 4130, and why?

very nerdy, but arguably, hub guards are what have come on the most

come at me bra

The Bike Shop / sunday stem slippage
« on: February 08, 2015, 07:05:04 AM »
this isn't getting answered in the quick questions and i want to ride my bike guise

i swapped my trusty attila stem for a brand new sunday freeze stem and now it slips on every single hop

i've re-done it every time it slipped

do i file the bars, inside the stem or both? does that work really?

someone told me about finish line fiber grip, but on looking that's for carbon fiber stuff

apparently it's one of the newer ones as it doesn't have the logos in the cut outs on the sides

The Bike Shop / filing down gyro tabs, any tips?
« on: February 01, 2015, 07:12:43 AM »
i think i'm finally going to get round to tidying these up, they came hacked off and i wasn't going to bother unless i was going to paint it but now i think i will

can i just go at them with a metal hand file?

is it worth taking the front end off first or just do it built up?
