When I get a glass of water from the sink I have to chug it, then fill it up again right away to drink at a regular pace.

I knock on wood. I know it does nothing, I'm not superstitious, but I always do it. Three little taps.
In the same vein, at work you don't say "quiet" or "slow". You'll get death stares. People also don't say the names of frequent flyer patients, like saying their name will bring them in.

Quoted for truth. I do home hospice nursing and do a lot of on-call shifts. I will strangle someone if the wish me a quiet night.

OG Wombolts came with a thin washer for this very reason. I am running my keychain on said Wombolts with a new sprocket/rear wheel no issues. If I forget the washer, I have a similar issue.

I've heard this before but mine didn't include said thin washer (first batch, pre-ordered at empire at the time, still going strong). I've coke can shimmed it before but running a loose sprocket bolt is less of a hassle.

I think the spacey came included after that first batch. I think they may have sent them out to folks who requested one, or reported the issue v

i get the feeling the animal we all know and love has been no more for a while now

I've had similar feelings, but have hoped I'm wrong... Oh well, not much to do about it either way.

Sometimes (most of the time) I want to show up at a skatepark and just quietly ride my bike, be introverted as fuck, and not be bugged with 50 questions.

Quoted for truth...

Looking for a pair of 4x4 bars. No problem if they've been cut.

So the guy that started this thread had the frame for three years before it broke? Douche bag.

How is he a douche? He didn't start the thread talking about using the warranty, only to ask if anyone could suggest another equally strong, or stronger frame that he could look into purchasing. At that point George said to hit up the warranty department either way so they could check the frame out.

I imagine there will still be a wide shoelace included.
Good to know it's not just me that couldn't get the IIIs to sit easily/centered in my 36h wheel.
Also agree that the IIs were better fitting.

Your buddy is the man in my mind.
Neglected, non running trails are fairly obvious, and if he's worked them for months without seeing anyone else till now how could he know if someone would feel stepped on.

I say fuck the kids who showed up, keep digging&buildibg as you(your buddy)see fit

Just a guess, but I would imagine Odyssey and their designers have decided against welding a nut in the steerer as to not add more heat/stress to the area when applying said nut.

If I remember correctly, Odyssey and Sunday forks used to use M18 bolts and switched more recently to M24. I am curious if this was a result of issues from welding in the steerer (heat/stress, like you say) or if this was a cost saving technique (I imagine welding is more costly than threading?).

I bet it is a good bit cheaper to not weld a nut in place. Also lighter if you just thread the steerer tube.
I think they have used threaded steerers since the classic race/dirt forks came out, but I could be mistaken.
