The Bike Shop / Bike Pump suggestions
« on: February 16, 2016, 06:30:53 PM »
My Park PFP-8 just went. It was solid, lasted a few years before it starting breaking down. Prior to that I had a Blackburn Air Tower 3. It worked awesome at first, then quickly started leaking from the presta port, then at the base.

Considering another Park, any of the PFP's. Also seeing good reviews on the Topeak Joeblow 2...

Any feedback on durable pumps that you folks have found would be appreciated.

I don't think Steven did it, not sure who did. I agree that the victims brother seems sketchy. His initial statements in the news when she first went missing seemed off/oddly worded...

Better question is- is that slime ball defense attorney Len Kachinsky related to Brian Kachinsky. I
May be wrong, but they seem to have a resemblance along with sane last name and both in/from Wissconsin.

I kind of fear the answer: is there a Mike Aitken part as well?

Aiken has a split part with Inman and someone else who is slipping my mind right now.

A pep boys/autozone type store will have copper antisieze for sure. They generally have little packets of it by the parts counter.

Seconded whacking the bolt. You can try some penetrating fluid, but get that all cleaned up and everything well greased after. The copper antisieze works great, but that one little packet isn't enough if you removed and re installed your cranks 2-3 times.

I am a RN/ Certified Wound Specialist working in homecare currently. I go to folks homes and evaluate their wounds, come up with treatment plans and get the MDs to sign off on them. Pretty interesting job aside from the paperwork.

Yea I heard of people getting transfusions between stages at the tour. Transfusions must be a more extreme increase in blood cells than high altitude training. Im more just curious if anyone has failed because of high altitude training. More or less just thinking out loud at this point haha.

They are transfusing bags of pRBCs (packed red blood cells), which have been separated from other aspects of your blood. With high altitude training/blood doping it is a similar idea. You train at altitude, which naturally increases your red blood cells. You then draw/collect your blood after training at altitude for a while. Back at sea level your body will kill off the excess red blood cells as you don't need them, but you can then transfuse your blood you saved from the altitude to boost your RBC count.

It happened at Travis Pastrana's place in Maryland. He had a contest to pull the craziest clip at his compound. Sucks what happened to Winklemann... Crazy to think it was 10+ years ago that happened.
