What cuts would that be? I live in Sweden and work in Denmark. Only differnce Ive noticed is border checks. I expect changes to come though due to the extreme amounts of asylum seekers coming to Sweden.

My boss tried to enter France with some clients to visit a site showcasing a product we wanna sell, but as the borders were closed.

What about using wire?

Aha! This might be smart. Made me think of trying this:

No idea what they are called in english, "hose tightener" in swedish. tighten them, bend them in so they dont pertrude past the guard's plastic edges, then ride worry-free. Shall see if I can get ahold of any small enough.

Russia said it wasnt, then moved warships in, but who wouldnt?

In my mind the best thing would be to let the coalition set up a safe zone on the north west part of the country, think the FSA is there, possibly some Al-Nusra that needs to get out. Let refugees stay there and set some kind of temporary (unofficial if so needed for them to step back) armistice up with Assad (also includign Russia and Iran). And then hit ISIS and Al-Nusra together.

Ok, cheers. I have a heard time seeing how it would work, but I bet you or someone else had it tested thouroughly before releasing it, so I guess it should work somehow, or I just suck at grinding angled ledges (which I know that I do).

I can see how it physically could help out. If you compress the tyre upon lifting the front and pressing down on the rear tyre a preassure should build up that could technically function as a spring when you release the rear tyre when lifting it up.

It can probably be calculated but I think that there are too many variables to calculate it easily. No idea at all if the spring force would mount to an amount that would actually help you during bunny-hops...

I can sometimes feel though that low preassure tyres are easier to ride street with compared to mine, that normally run at 5-7 Bar. Not sure if its because of this or just the general feel of the bike.

When I first got the gland I tightened down the ties as hard as I could, used tools to really tighten it down. The ties snapped immidiatly at the bend when grinding.

My friend, who previously ran Glands helped me out and strapped the new ties a bit looser to the wheel, they held up half a session (~5 grinds) before snapping the exact same way.

Just watched the installation guide on the site and I had them wrapped around the same spoke group. I will give the strap a go and see if that helps.

I tried to remember the bolt style gland-esque guard my friend used a long time ago, but cant remember... Ill ask to see if he does.

Still. Stop posting tons of links, just makes it longer to scroll through before finding posts worth reading, this isnt a RSS feed. Read the crowd

I remember a friend who had a similar guard to gland where you screwed it on to the spokes, worked wonders.

My bike got stolen though, so it doesnt matter anymore...

At first glance it would be logical to re-split the geopolitical division of countries that was made after WW1, the Sykes-Picot agreement.

A Kurdish national state would most probably be a really stable country. Its semi-autonomous in Iraq I think and if Assad falls it could probably be a possibility here too. I bet Turkey wouldnt be too thrilled about it though.

Then it would be an issue about what to do with Shiites and Sunni, if these could be divided into different states. Not sure if it would be a super idea, but it seems like the tension between the groups is what makes new democracies like Iraq fail. Could perhaps be an option, I mean, Pakistan India happened! They arent really the closest of friends though, and I forsee a bit Sunni/shia war in the decades to come.

It seems like the only way to maintain a sort of normal society in the area is through strong dictatorships. Egypt is still struggling tobget democracy up and working without creating terrorist factions, but if they succeed it would be a beacon of hope

Have a hard time understanding how you can become so religeous that Wahhabism or similar becomes an option. No music, kill everyone etc. thats not a fun way to live!

I started breaking spokes on a regular basis this fall when I tried to learn how to grind angled ledges. Reason being that I often hit the wheel just above my hub guard. I got a Gland as it protects a bigger area of the wheel and since then my spokes are kept intact.

I do however go through 2-3 (i.e. all) zip ties every session. Almost one every single grind. This is super annoying. Anyone got a tip on how to install a gland and not having zip ties break all the freaking time?

Freecoasters are lame anyway. No cassette clicking sound = not cool. Watching people ride in complete silence in videos is like wtf.

I love it. Stealth is beautiful
