The Bike Shop / Re: What did you do to your bike today? (v2)

Resealed the tubeless setup on my 29er and now they actually seem to hold air.

Dammit Bunky, I want to ride all of your bikes. No homo. Or homo, either way I just want to ride them.

Try not to repeat tricks and just destroy every jump like you would destroy Emma Watson. Maybe a bad analogy, she's more wife material. You get the gist.

Goddamn I wish we had rep. Green boxes all over this post.

I didn't get too creative with the outer wrapping on my hacked up box, but the inner wrapping is funny.

Like Bink said, the only reason to run a concentric BB pivot is the ability to run a SS drive train. Other than that it's just a funky bearing arrangement and not worth the tradeoffs.

Been searching high and low for a box that will work... With no luck. I'm just going to have to cut up a bike box and make my own box today.

A nutted or bolted hub makes the setup stiffer on a steel frame and fork than a QR hub.

Unless you need to remove the wheel often, you don't really need a QR. And if you end up needing one you can always swap in a QR axle later.

Hayden Christensen is a terrible actor and totally kills 2 and 3 in my opinion. I don't consider them watchable.

I love the story but I cringe every time Hayden Christiansen opens his mouth. His lines are poorly written and his shitty acting doesn't help the situation at all.

The Lounge / Re: Do you like old or new bike companies?

I feel old and lame, but I just can't feel what most of the new companies are doing. I'm sure it appeals to the average 16 year old bmxer.

So I guess I stick to older brands that I like.

I was talking specifically about World Cup level racers... They are going as long as possible. Longer frames plus offset headsets even for the average height racers. And as always, WC geometry trickles down into all DH bikes because going fast is the name of the game and nobody does that better than pro racers.

And I disagree about keeping your weight "behind the BB"... Centered weight will keep your front end planted, the last thing you want is to wash the front out in a turn due to too little pressure on the front tire.

Thomson makes a 27.2mm dropper now. Depending on your leg length you may have trouble finding a post long enough to get full leg extension on though. Transition made the TT low on the Bottle Rocket for slopestyle riding and not with climbing in mind.

An upside to your new bike is the DHX 5.0. Find someone with tuning skills or research the hell out of it, you'll need to dial in a decent amount of pro-pedal (low speed compression) to get that bike to pedal well. The boost chamber settings are nice too. I liked my DHX 5.0.

Figured I'd ask. I got a can of PBR one year and downed it while opening the rest of the box...

But if I were to get, say, a bag of weed... That would be bad. Lol

Alex- I had a thought... Have people ever sent "less than legal substances" as gifts? There are some people, myself included, who can't have that stuff around due to job or other legal reasons.

Edit: sorry to be a potential buzz kill/party pooper
