I don't know a thing about freecoasters, but I seem to recall that for this one you needed to backpedal a slight bit in order for it to disengage. Is that how all freecoasters work?

Chris at Odyssey said that the kevlar tires just weren't selling enough any more to justify production.

RIP Aitken K-Lyte. You were the bee's knees.

Maybe the removable tabs provide more surface area to weld, thus making them stronger? I agree that it looks pretty tacky though.

G, any thoughts on Kink's new offering?: http://www.kinkbmx.com/parts/cables/1-piece-cable/

Is there any perceived change in performance by putting the adjustability at the brake arm-side of the straddle as opposed to the hanger-side?

I will say that I have been an avid user of the OG Quik Slic since it came out. I love how easy it is and how stiff braking becomes. I recently switched frames and the single-piece Quik Slic no longer worked for me (both options were too long). I purchased an adjustable Quik Slic and though the shortest option worked in terms of length, but the performance was abysmal. It felt like there was a ton of friction between the cable and the housing and it totally killed my brake performance. Not sure if I got a bad one or not, but needless to say I am very bummed that I can no longer use the 1-piece version.

I think the tendency to want to overbuild these things with 4 pegs, a guard, etc. is the wrong move. I think the slimmer seat and black bars on this thing will look awesome. Post an updated picture when you have one.

Cellmember, so many questions. Why does one frame have zero seat tube and the other have way too much? Why does the second frame have both chainstay and seatstay mounts? Did the tensioners on the Solid frame actually work?

Are those both pivotals that you just covered over the slot for the bolt?

I've been curious what Laird's take was about wishbones and tube braces, now I know. That being said, I think that what he is doing looks really great.

This looks awesome, but I'm conflicted over how I feel these should be built up. Like, I don't know what my ideal would be. Maybe a Sean Emery set up?

I have some black arms I could sell you. Scratched and whatnot, but totally functional.

Seriously, how the fuck are you supposed to replace the ratchet ring? Does anyone know what that piece looks like on a Colony hub?

Is it true that Sam at Tree invented the spline drive sprocket? From their site:

This sprocket uses Spline Drive a technology I developed when trying to improve the way sprockets are attached to cranks. We did not patent the design. (oops!) Although now many companies made good copies of our design I don’t believe any are as good as ours.

Is there ever a claim that Odyssey is a Made in the USA company?

I feel like if anyone truly believes that than it's their own fault for being a moron.
