It might depend on the finish of the rim. I have a hard anodized Hazard light and I tried clear pads as well as several red/salmon pads before ultimately finding that black slim by fours were the best choice.

Tom just says that whole "recline in a lawn chair and punch yourself in the foot" thing, which doesn't help for me. I struggle to get my back leg straight as well. Every time I feel like I click a good one, I see a photo/video and it proves to be a bent-leg monstrosity.

I'm going to try and focus more on straightening that back leg and see where it gets me. Appreciate it.

Witness my shame (shitty video grab). I am focusing a lot on kicking my legs forward, but I think it's clear that I'm forgetting about my hips. I feel like I need to pull them to the right as I kick my legs forward and to the left.

I think that's wrong. The clear pads seem too soft, whereas the red/salmon are supposed to be a medium density. I am just curious if the red/salmon will work on colored rims.

I need some thoughts on what color brake pad to run with black rims. I have been using the red Odyssey slim by fours with a chrome rim for years and I loved the ability to feather and stop abruptly. I recently put a black rim on with some clear slim by fours and after one session I am not feeling them. It seems like they have zero stopping power until they lock up completely.

Anyone running the red/salmon pads with black rims? Is your braking Ok?
