For the bars I'd suggest going for some T1 2 piece bars. They're going to feel more or less just like a bigger version of what you're running just now.

As for the style of bike for what you want to be doing, I'd ride a couple of bikes down at the park. A modern street/tech style bike is going to feel twitchy but you might actually like it more than a stable trails style bike.

If you're feeling a bit hunched maybe just try some bigger bars and keep riding your Fit.

We the People are pretty hard to beat for a high end complete.

If you part out your old bike on bmx museum you might be able to get some funding for a new bike. T1 shit in particular is getting pricey these days.

Britains should be banned on a rainy and dismal island, somewhere in the North Atlantic.
Oh wait...

No way you'd ever hear it when you're actually riding tho

Nah, you can hear this shit. Not a T1, but one of my frames has this problem but I can't be assed fixing it.

It'll probably be metal shavings or slag or some shit. If you shake it around enough and it could come out at the bb junction. If you can narrow it down to one tube you could tape off the other vent holes so it doesn't go into a different tube when you shake it out. You could try fuck about with a magnet to pull it out or at least guide it to a vent hole.

The Bike Shop / Re: merrit non stop cassette vs profile elite
« on: June 20, 2016, 02:56:14 AM »
Elites have a lot of pawls which have more springs and pawls. This is great for quick engagement but might have a bit more resistance (drag). I haven't ridden a Merrit but I have seen them in the shop and they seem well put together. Odyssey hubs don't engage as quickly as an Elite but run well. I've got cassette hubs from King, Profile, Eclat and Joytech clones. Honestly, much of a muchness, they're all just hubs after a couple of cranks.

An appropriate gift could be money, something from a registry but a real winner is something with a more personal touch. Like a nice, well framed, professional glamour photography portrait of yourself. Nothing too revealing, you want to make the viewer to imagine what you are covering with that well placed pillow. You should sign it and write a personalised message like "Have you still got my Breaking Bad dvds?" in gold marker for authenticity.

The Bike Shop / Re: Tires...?
« on: May 31, 2016, 03:28:03 AM »
Don't really need a super knobby tyre for dirt as it isn't really loose like you might find on an mtb track. You can still get light tyres from companies like Maxxis, Tioga and KHE. Fly Rubens are still the gentleman's choice.
There are definitely riders that still care about weight like back in 2009. They are, how you say, le park rats. The market is largely ignoring park riders with the exception of companies like Total and Colony. Not everyone is a jibs rider but that is 95% of what the market is catering for just now.

EDIT: Also, find me some Fly Sergio tyres.

i bet if cult and stranger started making 48s again then suddenly thered be a market for them again

Nah. If Cult started making them every other company would probably start releasing 48s a season later. Cult ones wouldn't sell and then the other companies wouldn't sell either. Then the aliens will come to earth, see the piles of 48h rims and use them to enslave the human race. Thanks 48h dudes, now we're all slaves to aliens.
