It would be good to know what actually went wrong with the hub? Did the bearings in the driver fuck up or was something rubbing on something it shouldn't?

Suppose it could do but I think it'd be more about road vibration than actual jarring hits so it might not move enough to hit your brakes.

The Bike Shop / Different take on bearings/flange in hubs
« on: September 03, 2017, 08:40:24 AM »
Spotted this on some Eurobike coverage and thought I'd post it. Sort of hub flange micro suspension that keeps the hub spinning smoother and also keeps spoke tension away from the bearings. Interesting to see a different take on this and even little things like the spherical cone nut. I wonder if it would be any benefit to BMX bikes and how that flange would look after a couple of grinds.

Stretch your hamstings a bunch and try hanging upside down (inversion therapy?). I find that the hamstring stretches make the biggest difference to my lower back issues. Some foods like tumeric can reduce inflammation but I'm not sure if that'd help your back. Might be worth looking into though.

So has anyone actually been charged or is this bullshit?

The Bike Shop / Re: Offset spoke hole rims
« on: August 14, 2017, 03:59:03 AM »
All of the rims I've tried with wider space spoke holes tend to be heavier than the narrow or cross laced rims I've tried so it is pretty tough to compare the performance difference of the lacing alone. On paper there are advantages of each style but I'm not sure there is much difference (from the spoke position only) in practice for a 20" wheel. As far as a light and strong wheel goes, I like the cross laced rims like g-sport.

joined bg 2005 - sucked at riding but did it often
still on bg 2017 - suck at riding and don't bmx often

Anyone still doing custom shit to their brakes? Customized stuff was something I really liked seeing on the site.

If you're riding a bmx across town your knees will probably hurt regardless of crank length.
