I really like the black Fly pads.  Not too sticky, so you can feather them a little bit, but they're still good at gripping when you need a hard hold for fuf's and abubacas. 

I'm glad to see brakes are making a comeback.

Pedal strikes would be a nightmare.

That's one issue, you're pedals are an inch closer to the ground. Shorter cranks would help somewhat, going from 175 to 165 or 160 is a difference or 10 or 15mm, two fifths and three fifths on that inch at the cost of some leverage. Speaking of that part of the bike being closer to the ground, the effectual 10.5 to 10.75 BB height might feel shit too

I like having the option of brakes but to try out an adult BMX built around smaller wheels it's not a deal breaker. I knew a guy decades ago who had 16" on a 20" and rode it on dirt too but it felt so wrong to me the one time I rode it

Fun food for thought but at the end of the day I can't really expect to be able to hug every cat

Putting 20 inch wheesl on a 24 wouldn't cause problems with pedal strike, but going down to 12 inch wheels definitely would.

The feel of the bottom bracket wouldn't really change since the pivot points don't change, but the feeling of how close you are to the ground would.

I built this thing a while ago. Should be good on the jumps in Summer. Basically feels like a 20" but a bit less responsive and a lot more comfortable. The new ATF frames clear 2.4 tires with the Springfield brake for ultimate monster trucking.

Fuhhhhhhhhhhhhh, Tom that's gorgeous.  Cool to see you on a 22. 

How do you feel about the Springfields?  I've seen a lot of people complaining about them online, but I've got a couple sets of them on different bikes and I really like them.  The pads are just OK so I've switched them out on my favorite bikes, but overall I feel like they're stiff as hell.

You could always try sticking 18 inch wheels on a 20 inch frame as long as you don't ride brakes.

This kinda makes me want to put 20 inch wheels on one of my cruisers just to see what it feels like...  Or even 12 inch wheels just to go to the extreme end with it.

Model C's and other new school geometry cruisers are the shit!

I've got a Model C, Model C3, Liquid 24, Fit CR24, and a custom Stout 24.  I'm addicted to cruisers now and am working on getting a prototype frame built in China right now for potentially doing a small production run. 

Maybe we should start a separate cruiser thread?

The size is different to the Twombolt/Thunderbolt size and I can't seem to find one.  I've emailed Odyssey, but know they can take a couple of days to respond, so I figured I'd ask Moe Fuggin blue site.

So, I'm absolute shit at riding trails, but have a pretty good understanding of bicycle geometry.  There's a number of different things geo wise that could help you out, but I would say the most substantial is going to be BB height. 

A lower bottom bracket is going to make it harder to pull the front end up, but will also make looping out less likely. 

You could go for a longer rear end or top tube as well, or a combination of all of these things.  Do you have any friends with other frames sitting around that you could ride and compare?

Yeh, I feel like this is kind of a big deal for the bmx world.  When was the last time a pro bmx rider came out as gay?  Andrew Farris maybe?

Good for him for finally putting it out there, and it definitely sucks that he felt like he might lose friends and sponsors over it.  Hopefully this allows other gay bmx dudes to be able to be upfront about it.

I wonder how he feels about the tons of gay jokes that get thrown around in the bmx community.

PS-  I just opened up my package of Arboc bmx bar ends/extenders and they are fucking rad!  Ordered them last week before I found out about this video because I thought the extender option is rad.

Hey , I’m from Somerset West, it’s just outside Cape Town. I go back every year. It’s a amazing place to visit.

We hit Jo-burg, Chrissiesmeer, stayed at a place right off the edge of Kruger park, and then hit Cape Town.  Were over there for 10 days and it was amazing.  I've got video of a wild elephant walking up about 10 feet away from me at the place we stayed at Kruger.  The exchange rate was awesome at bars too.

I want to go back again sometime.

Gold bond in the ass crack is a life saver.  Pretty much standard operating procedure whenever I work gigs on-site.
