Not even close? Looks pretty close to me. I'm talking about the railed solo btw of course the pivotal or tripod whatever is fat.

It uses the exact same Velo seat pan as the ECCD/Thin Seats, so it should be damn near identical to the originals.

This is the only '97 I kept. It needed a small crack repair and a little filler after the weld, but you cannot see the repair now.




(Sorry to clutter the thread, just wanted to show what I started with on this one to give you an idea that a beater can be cleaned up).

I will keep an eye out for one. Sadly almost never find them in good shape though. I went through 5 or 6 of them before I finally found one that was good enough to fix up (even that one was cracked on the seatstays but had far less dents that all the others I tried). Almost always missing the og stickers as well, but SBC has the replacements (probably have to call them to get the full frame/forks sets since the ones on the site are for the new ones).

After I finshed my black one I picked up one that was NOS but was missing the decals and had heavy shop wear. I sold it to a friend that works at the local shop.

I used Slams (regular 8" version) and a front load Madera stem on my wife's Model C. Seems to work pretty well.

Recently he picked up some BASE goodies for me from one of his local shops. Shipped them out quick as well.

Currently doing another similar deal on some old Standard soft goods from another shop.

Got back into it last year after a 14 year break. I had forgotten just how fun it was.

Going to get a little more serious for 2015. My sprints and cardio need some work lol.

I'm trying to get to a few races in the area this spring/summer.  What class do you ride?  Would we race each other?  I'll be 33 by then. 

28-35 Novice (lol). There usually wasn't a large group at the Des Moines track so there was usually some younger peeps mixed in. The other dudes from town race cruiser class, but I prefer the 20s.
I only purchased a temp membership last fall, but will be picking up a full USA BMX membership for 2015.

I want to check out the Cedar Rapids track, I have heard good things and hopefully it is bigger than the Des Moines track.
