Thanks.  I've been shooting (practicing) pretty frequently lately.

I'm really stoked on my accuracy.  I am also very happy with my rifle's performance.

Stepped up my game yesterday.

M1A, iron sights, under 10 seconds a shot.

Yeah, target shooting I get. Huting with a magnum or m4a1, I don't buy that.

"Self defence" is so American, haha. Were I live I don't need to defend myself :)

I hunt with my M1A.  Stick a 5-round magazine in (maximum allowed for hunting in most places) and go shoot it like any other gun.  Just because I have the option of rapid fire doesn't mean I unload all the rounds every time.  Semi-auto is nice to have when hunting pigs too.

As for no need to defend yourself...I don't know what to say to that type of ignorance.  There are no homicides where you live?  No crime?

I wish mine was full-auto.  I don't think I could afford the ammo though.

There's different type rifles for different situations, and for good reason.  It also gives me more reasons to purchase more guns. :D

Sauer 200 STR rifle, probably 6,5mmx55 ammo. pretty slow rate of fire since it was in a competition.

theres no point-difference between a ten and an inner-ten, except if two guys have the same score but one of them have an inner more - he wins.

So why again are my shooting results "shitty"?

There's a difference between slow shooting a bolt-action, purpose-built target rifle versus quick firing a semi-auto battle rifle with close quarter sights.

Your 249 score is very respectable but we're talking two different scenarios.  Until I get my rifle fine-tuned for long distance shooting I'm happy with a group that will easily take man or animal down in one shot.

What's with all the guns? Paranoia?

Target shooting, hunting, self-defense.

Going out and blasting off a few rounds is amazingly therapeutic.

still shitty.

my record is 249 on 25 shots on 100m ;)

and no scope bullshit or stands or that stuff.

What gun?  What ammo?  Rate of fire?

As for the scoring, I don't know much about it.  Does the small 'x' in the ten spot count as ten or is it more?

I legitimately want this hanging in my house.

If you get a setup I recommend buckshot over that 7.5 bird shot.

Lousy shooting. :p

Come awn man.  That green circle is just a tiny little dot at 100 yards and I'm shooting surplus ammo.  /excuses  :D

I am hoping to get the rifle scoped sometime soon.

I went shooting yesterday afternoon and had a great time.

100 yards with my M1A.  Iron sights.  About 5 seconds in between shots.
The smallest circle is 1".

25 feet with my XDM40.  Standing.  15 rounds loaded and all put on paper.

i'm pretty sure an assault rifle is a selectable fire rifle(semi-auto, full auto) that fires an intermediate round.(5.56x45, 7.62x39)

Yeah, one can get the rest of the story from the wikipedia article you just paraphrased. :p

Obviously some others here could use the read.

.40 or .45 for a good mix of power and affordability.

9mm is a little cheaper but not as powerful.

.44 Mag is powerful but you may want to check prices.

I recommend .40 for a good all around caliber.  I chose it because of the above mentioned reasons and because it can be found anywhere.  I can shoot it one handed and get back on target quickly.  You can see what the .40 recoil looks like here.

Glocks are good.  I wouldn't buy a Taurus.  A Springfield XD or XDM is on the same level as the Glocks.  Hold a variety of guns and see whats the most comfortable in your hand.

My guns are going target shooting at the range this weekend.

I hope they invite me.

Look up what items make up an "assault rifle" in that legislation.  It's simply another way to tighten down on all guns, not do what is really effective.

See how knowledgeable the people are who push this stuff?
