He isn't mentally stable enough to own a gun.

One of the multiple messages he left on my page:

A little tiny pussy that hides behind the anonymity of an internet forum but can't support his positions at all because they have no basis in reality. Prove me wrong little man. Or shoot me with your gun you little tool.

I just wanna say that this is likely the first, and the last, time that anybody on this board will be happy about getting their girl pregnant.

And this is why it won't go 12 pages.

then why are hollowpoints dubbed 'cop killers' then? i assume they do more damage?

You'd have to ask the retards who coined that phrase.

Hollow points inflict more internal tissue damage than FMJs but I don't know how that relates to bullet proof vests and "cop killing".

Depends on what you're looking for and where you're buying it. Box of 20 rounds for me in .40S&W Federal Hydra Shok Hollow Points is about a buck a round, $20 for a box give or take a buck.

Box of 50 rounds non hollow points is also around $20.

Local range ammo is $14 for 50 rounds, but some of it is reloaded and random cases.

Brick of 500 rounds for my 10/22 ranges from $20-$35

Prices are a little different around here.

$36.99 for a 50 round box of .40 Federal HST (hollow point/self defense round).

$14 per 50 of .40 Blazer Brass (FMJ/target rounds).

$15 for 550 rounds of Remington .22 LR.

My 7.62NATO was $0.53/round including shipping.

One gun or caliber of ammo won't satisfy every need.  Of course that is why most gun owners have multiple weapons.  Right tool for the job and all.

For handgun ammo I'd try out Wal-Mart like Neckbeard recommended.  That's where I bought most of my .40 (Blazer Brass FMJ for target ammo).  Cheapest place I found but they don't always have it in stock, so when they do buy the most you can.

Has anyone ordered ammo online? Experiences? Good sites to check out?

Are you looking for mainstream calibers? Military surplus ammo? Rifle? Handgun?

I've ordered a bunch of surplus ammo from http://www.wideners.com and everything went great.  Other popular options:
http://www.ammunitiontogo.com/
http://www.classicarms.us/ammunition.htm

Of course you could always go to http://www.cabelas.com/ and similar on-line stores.

Find a forum dealing with the specific gun/ammo you need and they'll most likely have an ammunition section with everything you need to know.

Wheelr, how has your XDM been?  I think I'm going to purchase one in 9mm soon.

Love it.  Probably have around 2000 rounds through it with not a single problem.

Strips down quick and cleans easy.  Interchangeable grips are a huge plus.  Good capacity (17 for mine, 9mm is 19 I believe).

I think I've posted this before but you can find all the local ffl holders and some of them list prices.

http://www.gunbroker.com/FFL/DealerNetwork.aspx

Also, a company near here makes lowers for a decent price.  There is all kinds of info about them on AR15.com.

my state has the most lax gun control laws in the U.S (tied with alaska I think)...

Check this out for gun law[control] ratings.

Welcome to The Gun Thread.  Share some pics of your next hunt if you get a chance.
