I have absolute shit knees and the 165 crank length has been magical. I've gone 165 on all my bikes bmx, mtb, road. I lost a little in leverage, but I got used to that quickly. Key advantage beyond feet closer together for a more centered base is on the over/top stroke since my knees do no have to bend as far with the shorter arm.

Check out the Sombrio gear. Some of the stuff looks like everyday clothes. I personally just wear all black baggies with removable shammy. Tech shirts a dialed for hot or wet days. I usually put one on under my tshirt. Nice gear do make a world of difference. I did the cutoffs and tshirts for far too long. The day became about the riding once I started using proper gear. The Chase G Super Flat Fork is made with a traditional axle to crown dimension, while the other Flatware Forks had a shorter dimension to decrease the amount of space between the steerer and tire. The Super Flat also has the foreskin to bring the steerer as close as possible to a 1.75" tire as possible.
Worth noting, these forks were designed to be flat specific, so I am not sure how they would hold up for street riding.
