so how long has the op not been riding while waiting to get a frame repaired that is maybe 1 degree off? i can't see any serious rider taking off that amount of time due to something they'd never even feel. I mean just look at how most riders have their back wheels in the dropouts: cocked to one side for chain tension or just bc it always tightens up that way. I mean really now....

That seems like a harsh attitude. OP hasn't posted in nearly a month so maybe it all got sorted, but having ridden a frame that was very bent in the past for an extended period I can attest that you definitely feel it and if you pay top dollar for it you WOULD be pissed.

:)
G.

hmmm i can see your point G, and i have read your analysis on frame geo extensively through each and every one of your tech articles. But wasnt it you who was saying that NO frame is perfect and is in fact allowed a certain degree of variance in each and every angle and dimension?

Gsport if you anticipate being hard on your front wheel/axle

Otherwise Antigram is lighter

so they fixed it and now you wont ride it?

In all seriousness, even if it is off by a hair still, why does it matter? just ride the thing and destroy!

I ride a Reklamation which is made by standard. They are about to release the AJ Anaya frame. I can tell you that I do a lot hop whips and it holds up well. The thing is solid.

Maybe it's simply over tightened or just loose

I keep my chain as tight as it will go and not a peep. Make sure your masterlink pins are screwed in tight and not working themselves loose. I bet that's what happened when your chain broke.

funnily enough my frame only has 2 dropouts

if 2.54mm is a lot of metal then you all need to learn to use a file

Hmm ok u mean your frame doesn't have 4 dropouts? Weird....

No what I meant was the top and bottom of each dropout is like doing it 4 times son

I would think a well placed hit with a small sledge hammer would do the trick. either that or well placed screwdriver working as a chisel to create a wedge

bmx dropouts aren't hard to file and .1" is fuck all. if you have the gear go ahead but files from a discount shop will do the job

edit - don't get me wrong if i was at work i'd be using a die grinder/rotary bit. i'm just saying its easy to do with the basics and the lad would make a mess with an angle grinder by the sound of it

.1"x4 is fuk all but doing x4 is a pain in the arse

angle grinder going slow is where it's at. grind, stop, check. repeat

I switched to steel female axles, two sets of driver springs and the newer serrated spacers. I don't really have any issues with my madera hubs anymore except that they are loud as shit.

I also chose not to use them again on my new bike.  I just got Tree Hubs.

I thought most people like loud hubs?

I rawed my brand new set of black odyssey forks out pretty easily with a spray can paint stripper

Holy fuck what a shit show. Odyssey Sunday stand behind their product 100%. It's a lifetime warranty, are you really going to spend 350 on a frame when you can replace your frame through their warranty process.

That's a lot of beer.
Don't go reminding me how much beer that could add up to now, thats like hitting below the belt..

as far as warranties go, I'm on a flow team and can't bring myself to ask for parts.. I don't know about you guys but it makes me feel more broke and stupid than I already am..

Why would you not ask for parts being on a flow team? That's the whole fuken point! Or at least offer to pay cost price
