You sure you're turning it the right way? Years ago this happened to me only to realize I was turning the reverse threaded Left side pedal the WRONG way!

Rad man bet you are stoked!!!

Ride it as it comes--bars are gonna feel really high to you at first, but you will get used to them. 9" bars with a topload stem is the best

The Bike Shop / Odsy Clutch hub slack issues
« on: July 19, 2016, 07:53:01 AM »
Anyone having mildly inconsistent slack on their clutch hub? It engages about when it should but I keep thinking that the Sunday version slack washer would be better since its solid. I know that my adjustable washer cracked around the threads on the replacement I was sent as well, which I think is causing the slack to back out on its own. Anyone else had this issue? Tried FB messaging odsy and currently awaiting their response.

No way you'd ever hear it when you're actually riding tho

That adjustable slack washer is the Achilles heel of the hub. My grub screw has gradually worked itself to a setting with more slack and needs the occasional tightening to get it back into position. Also the hole threaded for the grub screw creates a stress point for it to crack around the screw.

Perfect hubs except the slack adjuster does suck in them

Already cracked 2 of them

Clutch pop is common and should disappear overtime as it breaks in
This is what I'm thinking. Break that thing in.

Yep

Actually what you may be experiencing is not the decrease in spoke number but rather the decrease in crosses--from 4x down to 3x. The spokes are now shorter, tighter (especially with 3x butted spokes), and less able to flex and rebound accordingly to handle the load. If u can lace up a 36h wheel as a 4x (give it a little caressing and it'll work) and at that with straight gauge spokes (so the spokes press a little more force against eachother) you will have a good bulletproof wheel.

I would kill for a 48h ratchet shell, even emailed around to get one made but to no avail. If anyone can put me in contact i would really appreciate it.

Why the f would u even want a 48

2 years now and mine is still fucken awesome

Had to apply a little loctite on the master link pin threads to keep them backing out over time but never once have had an issue with the chain coming apart or breaking

I'm running a 15/9 setup with the chain as tight as it will possibly go. It has been thoroughly rusted out, cleaned, and re-oiled over its life

Plus the ease of being to break it at the master link is 100% worth it if your wheel is slammed.
Makes getting your back wheel off oh-so-easy

Was watching some of the older road fools (6 namely where Freimuth kept breaking his chain) and got to wondering when these officially fell out of favor. Anyone still running one?

Would be a cool throwback with kink and profile now remaking some of their OG sprockets

The Bike Shop / Re: Sunday
« on: April 06, 2016, 04:26:45 PM »
The BMX market has moved a lot towards complete bikes and we have had to put a lot of emphasis on that for Sunday. With any new part we have to decide if it will be Sunday or Odyssey or G-Sport. Sunday is where our high end frames are but otherwise it tends to be "conservative" budget parts. We have innovated (like with the beefier single wall rims) with Sunday where we need a lower price part that still works well enough to ride hard, but the more advanced parts will always be Odyssey or G-Sport. To be honest, I dont understand it that well myself, but as long as I get to work on new products I'm happy to see it with any name on it.

:)
G.

yeah it's a little confusing that the brands essentially crossover--odyssey/gsport for high end parts, Sunday for lower end parts. and then back to Sunday for top of the line frames.

I've been a fan of yours G since before Gsport came under odsy and always get your latest offerings whether it's the birdcage rims, clutch hub, or keychain. good shit G keep it up
