I seem to have lost one of the rollers from the master link. Will a roller from a normal chain fit in there? Or should I order a master pin from Empire?

Still, be wary of rust though.

Parts can still fail when allowed to rust.

Remember that forks cranks frames can rust from the inside out as well :)

Right on bro, that makes good sense. Thanks!

Why's it rusted up already?  Did you leave it outside in the rain or something?

I'm about to purchase a keychain for one of my bikes to test it out and see how it works I think.

Traveling for shows I have my bike on the bikerack outside my car. Sucks getting rained on but eh, a little water never hurt anything

I have a first batch hollow keychain and it is fucken legit. I run it super tight and use loads of pedal pressure. Also, it is rusted to hell. And you know what? It runs like a champ! No odd sounds or roughness at all!

Any word on Socket Drive? Seems like its been fairly dead for a while. Any plans on pushing it more?

I like the socket drive system

Surprised it hasn't taken off more, especially considering the production rights are free

According to one esteemed frame builder, the wishbone is actually a stiffer design. Not sure what the difference in weight is though.

Would be cool to see this thing in short and long sizes.

Got my Madera hub today. Time to save up $100 so I can get spokes and have the local shop lace my wheels for me.

Dude. No.

You will be better off lacing yourself and getting it right.

Let my brother borrow my bike. The crank bolt from my flys worked its way free and is now lost forever. I think this means I can get profiles now.

Bummer! But maybe now you can upgrade to a Ti bolt now?

Ok time to update:

Installed the hollow version about 2 weeks ago. Pain in the ass at first, but finally got everything dialed in with my chain length and slamming the wheel.

It has been super smooth, has NOT stretched from what I can tell. I use a lot of pedal pressure when I ride and other chains have snapped on me but this one is holding strong! I ride flatland if you should ask.

The ease of breaking it with an Allen key on a slammed wheel makes this thing worth the price alone!

Yeah, as in made it the correct length.

And just to clarify, I suck at chains. Every time I have to push a pin its usually world war three.

This chain was not that.  It was pretty easy.

Now that I've rode it a bit, it does seem a bit loud and not as smooth as my usual bluebird.

Your sprockets are probably a little worn to match the stretch in your old chain.

:)
G.

Bought a new sprocket for this reason alone. Will post my experience soon.

Took out a link and replaced it with a half link. Wheel is now officially slammed. Say goodbye to chain slap!

The t/a tires are awesome but i think I want a tire with some tread on it. I noticed I can't grip that great unless I'm full on straight ahead charging a wall for wall rides. With my other tires(machetes) it was a lot easier to kind of ride parallel to the wall and just hop and stick. I just slide off the wall with the T/A tires.
Plus a new shipment of items just popped up in the shop so I'm going to try and pick up some metal pegs.

Could be that you were just wearing off the outer layer and breaking the tire in that it didn't grip so well
