Well I will get my 10mm full size and bring it over to play.

Corey just picked up a SIG P220, I'm paying for my Glock 27 on Friday and picking it up (hopefully everything goes thru without any problems) ten days later. That gives you plenty of time to get down here to play with us.

I put a hundred rounds thru the G27 at the range not too long ago and it fits fine in my hand. Having the option of keeping it tiny and the option of adding the larger magazines (G22/G23) is what really sold me on the subcompact Glocks. Shit, even the 33rd magazine will fit in it. The Glock system is pretty dialed. Going with the .40 also leaves the option of swapping out a .357, 9mm or 10mm barrel in turn making it three guns in one. And taking that and pairing it with the longer mags that makes it even more in one. I like the ability of concealment with ease even though getting a CCW is going to be impossible for me due to location.

Just read this on another forum... interesting if it is true.

Its my understanding that the DOJ does not consider anything 80% or below to be a firearm or frame for that matter. By their rules its just a hunk of metal. Would not make a difference if I dug my own ore to make my own block of metal and cut from there.

I just spoke with my dealer and he said 80% are OK as long as I don't sell them or manufacture them. All of the laws I read on the DOJ site speak of manufacturing firearms.

Here is what the Cali DOJ says about it:

" 12085. (a) Commencing July 1, 1999, no person, firm, or corporation licensed to manufacture firearms pursuant to Chapter 44 (commencing with Section 921) of Title 18 of the United States Code MAY MANUFACTURE FIREARMS within this state unless licensed pursuant to Section 12086.
(b) Subdivision (a) does not apply to a person licensed to manufacture firearms pursuant to Chapter 44 (commencing with Section 921) of Title 18 of the United States Code who manufactures fewer than 100 firearms in a calendar year within this state."

AND

Here is what Chapter 44 (commencing with Section 921) of Title 18 of the United States Code says:

" (10) The term ``manufacturer'' means any person engaged in the
business of manufacturing firearms or ammunition for purposes of sale or
distribution; and the term ``licensed manufacturer'' means any such
person licensed under the provisions of this chapter."

Because I am not doing it for "sale or distribution" I'm not classified as a manufacturer and can make firearms for myself.....right? LOL. Looks right to me

Yup. He's shot a ton of it there though before and the same guys that were there that day are always there. They said it depends on the season. Bumout considering we drove pretty far to get there.

1022LR

We went to an outdoor range to shoot all Corey's bigger guns but they wouldn't let us shoot any of his ammo because it is magnetic so we went to Insight and shot the 1022, 9mm handgun and .357 revolver. First time shooting so it was fun.

I see you watching banned boy.

How much would it cost to make the frame?

Materials and man hours?

Material will probably be fifteen bucks. I'm going to do it out of 7075 or 7050. Stock will be 7.00" x 5.00" x 1.00" Its probably going to take a few hours of programming, tooling design and fixturing plus a few hours of run time on top of a few for setup. As far as tolerances go the tightest linear is +/- .001" and tightest diameter is +.0015/-.0000" so it isn't too bad. Just very detailed. There are a ton of operations.
