Well considering it holds more rounds, is lighter and doesn't print as much, I'm not complaining.

"Are you two into guns?"

"Yes sir, nice 1911"

"Thank you, this gun has some history."

"Yes sir, I'm aware. I'm building one myself."

"Ugh, what you're carrying is completely legal. There's no fucking reason though, not around here, but you legally can. Get some lights you two."

The Glock 21 Torture Test you posted is pretty wild. I've yet to see any other pistol stand up to that much abuse and still fire.

That's very tempting. Lemme delete some shit from the "other" site and I'll hit you up. Then lets go shoot guns.

8 MORE DAYS!!!

I can appreciate a lot of these guns from an engineering perspective, think id feel a little cheated if i got one of these plastic glocks etc though? I can see the practicalities of the lower weight and cost and all that, but surely half the pleasure of owning a gun (the other half being killing shit and posing in front a mirror) is in the tactile feel and action of it, right?

Other than not being as cold as aluminum/steel, Polymer feels the same. A ton of tactical style stuff is made of some type of plastic. Glocks, Pelican/Storm Cases, Kydex sheaths/holsters, etc. Glock has proven how reliable their pistols are and I back that. I want something that I know will fire if I need it to and/or when I want it to. Pull the trigger and it goes BANG everytime, no questions asked, given its loaded with quality ammo. There's a video on youtube of a guy that takes a NIB Glock and ties it to a rope. Then pulls it behind his truck for ten minutes in the dirt. The thing gets beat to hell. He sticks a full mag in it and it fired everyone without problem. I highly doubt I'm going to be in a life threatening situation, but if I am I want to know its going to work. Glock has proven that it will time and time again. Yeah its a Polymer frame, but it shoots bullets and that's all that matters when the time comes.

I didn't buy a Glock for looks. That's what the 1911 project is for. :D

I was thinking about going with the 26 at first. Shot the 27 and didn't mind the snappy recoil at all. At 9+1 I'm at the max capacity anyways. Might as well go with the larger round in the same size package. If I do ever want to shoot 9mm I can swap out the barrel and mag. Not sure if the same goes for the 26 though. Figure with the larger round and smallest frame I can always go smaller in rounds and bigger in mags/extensions if I needed. But can't (without heavy modification) do the opposite.

The sub compact Glocks look/feel so nice. Not a huge fan of the larger ones seeing as there are much nicer (looking) guns for around the same price. As far as larger packages are concerned, I still want to finish my 1911 project. Sweet, another waiting game. This time 30 days.

Yes I've ordered probably about 15 different guns from them.  Choose your FFL then go pick it up.

Cheapest in town.

Don't most FFL's upcharge a ton if its a firearm they currently stock?

Anyone have opinions or experiences with a Sig P230 .38?

No personal experience but I will tell you, DO NOT let anyone tell you that isn't enough firepower for a carry gun or SD. Mobility vs. Firepower. What do you plan to use it for? Will you be carrying? Strictly a range/SD gun? Once you figure out what its primary use is you can better choose what to go with. What I mean by that is, if you plan to use it as a daily carry, don't go with something you think is going to weigh you down. What good is a gun if you don't carry it all the time because its uncomfortable?

nutnfancy knows his stuff.

California sucks. We don't even have all that great of weather anymore.

As for registering guns, if its a gun you already have that isn't registered or in your name I don't believe it is mandatory to register it. It only makes it "easier" to get back, so they say. Buying a new gun or any gun for that matter from a dealer requires DROS. Linking your name to the specific gun.

They are, however I can't see it taking ten days when anyone can call any of the local agencies and say a name and find out if they owe money, have a warrant, commited a crime, etc etc etc. I called LBW and gave them my name and had them run it, I also gave them my social to double check. They didn't ask me who I am, didn't request any personal info, didn't question why I was asking, nothing. It must be even easier for the "professionals". Especially with computers. Other states run background checks but it only takes 2-3 days.

Yeah, its ridiculous here in CA. Heavy restrictions and an absurd amount of time to have to wait. If I really wanted to be violent I sure as hell wouldn't go buy a gun at a gun shop and have it registered in my name. We also have a 10 round max per magazine here which is another reason I'm going with the Glock 27 9+1

I understand why there's a cool off period and I back it. But 10 days? What a crock of shit. We also have to wait thirty days in between buying handguns. Why? No clue. I think the cool off period is fine for your first gun. Shoulsn't be the case for the 2nd or third and so on. Why go buy a gun to handle business when I already have one? Hello! The people who make these rules are retarded. Next election I'm voting for a technocrat.

Search nutnfancy on youtube and check out some of his table top reviews. Amazingly detailed and a honest unbias review on a ton of guns as well as knives and other carry items. I believe he has a review of both the Glock 22 (if not one of the similar models) and an XDM. I could be wrong. Either way he shares a huge amount of knowledge on many types of guns. Always a good watch even if it isn't one you're looking into.
