I enjoyed this. It was like a history lesson of the past 10 years of Odyssey.

The Bike Shop / Re: Let's talk about chain lube
« on: November 21, 2015, 05:31:34 PM »
We just started distributing Maxima this year in Canada and it is far and above the best product lube or otherwise I've ever used.

Chain Pro lube  wet or dry- Works perfectly for road/mtb. Lasts long and doesn't get black as quickly as a lot of other brands (White lightning, pedros, park, triflo, wd-40 bike)

Well fuck, that's some coincidence right there. Glad you and the lady are alright. (Save for the nose).

Massive Josh Homme fan. Pretty worried about that one, but also for the fans. Being stuck in a theater like that must be devastating on the nerves.

edit : Just heard about the toll in the concert theater. Open fire and bombs being thrown into the crowd. I can't fathom the horror people are feeling right now.

What is most troubling is that Alex wants to ban autistic members.

I thought everyone was on the same page when it came to Alex being related to Hitler? Did I miss something?

The Bike Shop / Re: anyone use flatware forks?
« on: November 11, 2015, 07:43:06 PM »
The tire clearance on those is super minimal when it comes to tire height. 1.95 might be pushing it. The forks were marketed along with the 1.85-1.75 Chase G tires at the time amd clearance was perfect for foot-jam tricks. Width wise you were pretty okay to do up to 2.1 but you'd have to run your wheel lower in the dropouts.

The UBI is the only thing I've found that comes close to any proper frame building course. That or the Brodie course but it's not as in depth. Nothing like it in Canada either which blows.

The Bike Shop / Re: Chrisking hub conversion
« on: September 15, 2015, 07:20:58 PM »
Definitely maybe.

Chris king hubs were finicky to work on when I did them if you didn't have the proper tools to pull out the axles.

I haven't seen anyone do as drastic a change as what you're looking to do though. I say go for it if the axle kits aren't going to cost you an arm and a leg. When is anyone going to use 150mmx12 and 20x100 axles anymore?

KHE in general. I have never hated a company as much as this, but its based on the fact that way back when they denied that there was anything wrong with their terribly weak and awful products.

Inside sales rep for large Canadian bicycle manufacturer as well as parts + accessories distributor. At the moment I'm putting together a brand exhibition where I'm in charge of setting up hundreds of products for our dealers to come and walk through. (Basically a fat kid in a candy store scenario)

+1 for Doris. It works.

Other than that, I'd suggest Ladybird
