For all the guys talking about animal, Part 2 is out: http://www.epictv.com/media/podcast/past-present-and-future-part-2-%7C-animal-bikes-/603366

It's not overly specific, but I can add to it that all is well again (and it wasn't for about a year) with the company and they are moving forward with restocking old product as well as new stuff.

after a  18 hour day at work and almost killing numerous customers  this has just brought the biggest fucking smile to my face

im lacing a profile ss to a hoffman rim and it says i need 185.7 mm    and 186.2 mm would i be right in thinking that 186mm would be fine and not  have the tops of the spoke come trough the rim?

I want some 14mm with brake mounts.

Was expecting a bit of a front brake resurgence.

as nice as this would be , its just missing the extra few spokes to make it a 48

Not much more than it being everyones favorite obscure rim back in the days. Have you found one? I remember people looking everywhere for them like 10 years ago.

Think double wall and low profile rims that were quite light.
i have indeed , welded? good for brakes?

have a massive list ... i'll keep it short n sweet

director forks
khe anchor bar stem combo
khe  combo seat that stupidly small over they did
plastic seat posts
plastic seats
25 and below teeth sprockets
bars bigger than 8.5
wheels with less than 36spokes
plastic pegs

that'll do for now

How old is it? Could be bearings or one of the other issues mentioned. Do you have a third party hub guard on there instead of one of the original collars maybe?

Had the same, bearings died and i had to ditch it (like most parts as of lately).

The bearing units are totally standard and easy to get hold of for a few dollars...

:)

Its probably about 5+ years, got it second hand 3ish years ago  only hubgaurd on its had on are glands? seems like the axle may be squished a little

5 years+ suggests bearings are the likely cause. Knock em out and check them over.

:)
G.

i'll give them a check later , if its not sorted i'll give you a shout , cheers :)

Are you running the knight guards? I found when I ran them my wheel wobbled. Put the old collars back on and it's been good since
only gaurds ive ever ran are glands...
