Got a chest mount for the gopro and had harborough park to myself for a bit before it got mobbed by the most annoying scooterers I've encountered to date. Loving the model c though.

*may be a slight exaggeration.

I finally rode that concrete park in Kettering the other day, it's good. I'm too crap a rider to make the most of it though, the jump box and a lot of the quarters have pretty steep and tall lips which I can't ride for shit. Some of the smaller stuff and the hafl bowl things are really fun though. I can see loads of good lines but I'm not a good enough rider to make the most of it. Harborough bowl is better for a crap rider like me.

Yeah I think the guys that build at western park are mostly mtb'ers so makes sense I guess. Hopefully gonna get to the skatepark on it tomorrow!

Definitely feels better than a 20" for me. I think I can hop higher and it carries speed better. I still prefer my 26" for trails though and I'm yet to try this at a skatepark but I reckon I'll like it.

So what happened Tom? Do you have a nice new ModelC or some crappy fucking brake pads on your car?

:)
G.

haha I did both, put the car stuff on my credit card to worry about paying off in the future. I'll go for the springfield then I guess! Killseth I think they're pretty cheap Alex rims so painted rather than anodised I guess.

Nice. It helps that bike a lot to have a slightly taller front end. Try playing with your bar angle too. Start with them inline with the forks, then move forward 1/8" at a time to feel the differences.

Do you reckon a higher rise bar would make it even better or does a top loader and another spacer under the stem give enough extra height for it to feel its best?

Current best brake pads for a black rim? I asked before and was told clear ones but I had some Odyssey clear ones before and they weren't amazing.

Also whats the best straddle, is it worth making one with a spoke etc? The one I have now is a bit shit, hard to get it all tight and nice feeling. I would like a quic slic but my brake won't fit it as it bolts one side rather than having a bit to sit a ball end in.

Flipped my stem, feels better a bit higher. Might still need a top loader though, challenger in silver would be nice.

Another crappy gopro video still. Finally got the hang of this hip at Woburn. It's longer and funner than it looks on camera

Ah that looks awesome! Definitely gonna have to try something like that! Anyone got any good links to trail building tips? Ive only ever made little dirt kickers before so I dunno what the best way to go about building proper doubles is.

Just found out my Dad's moving to a new house that has access/ownership of a small field that he can't be arsed to do anything with, I should be able to build some jumps there :) Give me some inspiration for maximum fun in a small space! I think it's either an acre or two, which sounds more than it is I think. Annoyingly I'll be moving out soon but having jumps in pretty much my back garden for a few months will be awesome haha

So I have the opportunity to buy a Model C Ex (the white one) for £125 next weekend, should I do it? Bearing in mind I recently sold my 20" trail scout as I couldn't get used to the sketchy feel coming from 26"?

Edit - never mind, car brake pads now need replacing and thus taking up precious money. Cunt.
