The Lounge / Re: With heavy heart Bikemutts has passed away

A year later and I am still so saddened by this loss. As soon as I got the text from Chris O. that I should call him I knew what was up.

I will never not miss Mike.

Riot Fest will never be the same if the wife and I make it back out there. At least we’ll always have the memories of the Weezer “Blue Album” set.

Holy shit, if it wasn’t for Zach, I wouldn’t be logged in.

18 years, hell, that’s scary af.

Don’t you dare blame this on me!

18 years here. 20 years with the OG members pre-dating here on the old RideBMX forums.

I invited a few of those OGs to the wedding a few years back.

I know there is a dedicated thread for it but I am still so incredibly sad that we lost Mike last year.

Cat is too busy blogging for TheComeUp.

Steven used to end up hanging out on the porch of our old (NickS) apartments all of the time.  Mr. Hamilton hung out at the bar across the street and my roommate and I would constantly call him over and talk about the most random subjects.  Our friends (Arnold Palmer/Cat) were having a party one night and I walked over there to find Steven wearing a winter coat in 90 degree weather telling me to "embrace my inner black bear and climb the tree in the front yard."

He also told us a story about doing the OSU curved wall on his "barspin bike" to barspin.  His "barspin bike" was apparently a beach cruiser and according to what he had to say it was the only bike that he could ever do barspins on.  Supposedly, he was going to shoot an ad for Federal doing so but someone stole the bike when he was drinking one night because he forgot to lock it up.

And so as to not disappoint.  I dug up these pictures I took of Steven doing a decent sized table over a decent sized hip at The Flow circa 2002 (possibly 2001).

Unrelated to Steven... Nick, you forgot Shanton Wilson.  One time pro living in Columbus that no longer rides.

I might just dig out every bit of photographic equipment I have tomorrow and document it and see where we stand.  It could possibly be interesting.  I almost feel like I'll be out of place in this thread not having anything medium or large format except my Holga.

Site Help and Rules / Change email address?

Contact your internet service provider.  They generally will give up to about five emails per account.  The purpose of not allowing free emails is to try to make it harder for spammers to sign up by forcing people to have an account that is not easy to set up multiple email accounts for.

Forum specific mods can't change names you group of schmucks.  All they can do is edit posts and close threads.  Basically, they get the fun part of the job minus the headache of dealing with the rest of you.  I miss my days as the photo gallery mod.

Why didn't you just put that $63 into a savings account and start working on a down payment for something nicer?

If they make a comeback they won't be all funny because all of the characters are modeled after kids that haven't posted since the comic was created and 98% of BikeGuide will not know who isbeing discussed.

Not too terribly many details about this contest just yet.  In years past we've had some pretty big names show up and throw down some Dew Tour sized maneuvers.  The Knights Inn down the street usually proves to be an entertaining time for those not nearly as interested in riding their stunt machines.  I'll post more info as it is provided.
