cables lubed/nice and smooth? i cant work out what the issue is, like badlight said clear pads usually grab like a mofo. only other option would be to get a chrome rim but thats a pain in the arse cos itd be expensive, and youd have to rebuild the wheel

i still ride at least 1-2 times a week, got an awesome scene where i live with people of a variety of ages to ride with though which makes a huge difference. everyone meets up at the skatepark on wednesdays, and theres always plenty of beer and other substances for riders who dont actually wanna ride and just hang out instead. pretty lucky

I hate admitting to being a fucking dinosaur but waaaay back in the Mesozoic era rednecks did not have chamfered edges. Cut my knee so many times from hitting my 44t on feebles and consequently having my chain fall apart. So glad that the garbage parts are in the past.

i went over the bars the other week tyre grinding a curb (lol) and took a chunk out of my knee on my stem as well as half the skin off my palms. im having a stem pad from now on for sure, not worth it

Same. Even rent is getting ridiculous around my side of town at the moment. $375/week for a townhouse with fuck all storage space.

450 pw 3 bed 2 bath, split with my gf tho so half that. still pricey when all youre doing is helping someone else pay off their mortgage. perth prices are fucked generally, mining boom is over everyone, srsly
