Agreed. If you need softer landings than "2.25 at 50psi then you're doing something wrong.

landing flat is now a style

woah hold the horses here.... isn't that the JCPC axle system a la G? i kinda thought that he patented it (would be silly not to) and here it is in a different pedal? either G's involved in this company's pedals or he's selling royalties on it... pretty sweet if that's true, it's like making a really decent car chassis that's application to many car types, so every manufacturer go with your chassis to allow them all the designing they want on a good platform...

fell in love with the elementary stem the moment i saw it online. bought a v1 and used it, bought a v2 when it came out just to put on a shelf, bought the v3 when it came out and swapped onto my bike. the v1 is now on the shelf just for me to look at. beautiful piece of engineering, not just from the functional perspective, but also how it's designed to make manufacturing it easily. if you video the manufacturing process it'd be like those industryporn vids.

oh, stuff i hate? a lot of products in BMX are still quite shit yet popular. its the idea of some younger kids thinking one part is superior than the next because of whoever pro is riding that brand, or buying into the gimmicky ideas that those companies sell that i hate. This hate, whilst mild, is more on a spiritual level than material.

EDIT: also KHE integrated stem and bars for street riding. on top of how it's a silly idea (which may have had a chance of being well excuted and can fit certain people), it's SO BADLY MADE.

I like to think I might try the curved wall at the end if it was lowered down to the ground...  Video is sick, but I honestly dont "get" putting the curved wall all the way up there. It's a trick that he obviously has dialled and so was probably pretty "safe" but what's the point of adding an almost terminal level of danger just for the sake of it? If it was natural terrain that he found ike that it would obviously be a different matter, but it just seems a bit weird to me... then again I'm an old man so fuck me!.

:)
G.

the idea is the same as tight rope walkers doing it chest height/ five stories/ thirty stories / one grand canyon high. you've ridden down some serious kinked handrails with a huge drop on the far side - would it not be easier to do if the other side were fluffy pillows? The obstacles is already there "as it", that's true. But it doesn't mean it takes a lot more guts/mental focus to do it when you can't afford to fail.

i can barely lean on a safety barrier 30 stories high without sweaty palms, yet i'd quite happily peg stall hop barspin out of it if it's on the ground at the same height. Doing that wallride at that height with no safety means you only get one go. there's no bitch run to bail "just to feel it out" - you just focus on what your body's learned to do, and execute. Not to mention, you know, that mild breeze that you ignore when you're on the ground level...

i have a growing appreciation for people who do seemingly menial tricks on scary places.

« on: September 08, 2015, 01:51:20 AM »
^^ i don't have a clutch coaster to dissemble, but looking at G's videos on dissecting/explaining the hub, i think you can still put a couple spacers in there to control the slack instead of the bolt/plastic ramp system. Although this really isn't the optimal solution.

do you think it's the grub screw (the one to adjust slack amount) that's failing to hold its position with the threads? if that is the case, i wonder if it's OK to take the mechanism out the hub and set the screw with locktight then popping it back in. if you let the locktight cure for sufficient time (something like 20 hours) before reassembly, you should be able to prevent the grease from penetrating the threads and loosening it.

A lot of the work is medical at the moment since that's where the bigger money is, but get involved in pretty much every field from aerospace to dildos (really).

I'd like to get a replica of my penis made as a dildo, I presume a single picture of the real thing can get you started. Is there a way for you to receive the file? my email wouldn't let me attach a 1TB file since its so big

I'm a partner in a consulting firm. We deal with a couple of investment banks and private equity funds advising on financial risk management, and I specialize in delta one quant/algo trading of equity derivatives.

We've been trying to expand for headcount in high frequency trading, but all the good talent keep being sniped by the big investment banks/ other funds in the market. The fact that nobody has yet tried to poach me for the last two years probably means i'm not as good in the job as i see myself...

I saw it all over damn Instagram. I'll have to look up shit on dig unless you've got links.

just google simple session 2015 final, you'll end up at a redbull hosted page where you can watch the entire final, or select highlights, or even individual riders' runs.

i know it sounds old and cliche, but Gary Young still wins. i didn't even look up the roster who's in competition and just let it play once i downloaded the whole 2hours of finals. everyone's ripping tricks like mad gods but nobody stood out as much as gary did for me. the way he rode the course just makes it so different from anyone else, and in both runs when he did the hop-nose manual-hop on the grind boxes i held my breath and clinched my anus.

Also, (not too sure it's smart for me sharing this), i think double barrel first names are cooler than the classic first-middle-surname. what's the difference you ask? FUCK YOU that's what. double barrel names only make sense when used together

if i had two boys, i'd name one Storm Herald (he can go by Herald in day to day lives) and the other Courage Wolf. because courage wolf is how i'd want people i bring up to be like.

please tell me you still have pictures of your yellow shaman?

good god, that shaman brings some of my best memories. i'm currently away from home, dug on some online storage and found one picture, don't know if it's viewable by the public - please let me know.

this was when the bike was still in semi decent shape, only the seat was fucked. looking back i really don't understand why i rode every part to death. like when things get worn, i buy new ones and often in bulk (dozens of tires and grips, 2 chains and a few pairs of pedals etc) and never bother putting them on. i guess with work limiting time availalble for riding i just wanted to spend on my time riding it.

i'll dig thru my backups for some pictures when i get home in a day or two, maybe we can start a nostalgia bike thread! i also think i have more pictures of G's old bike that G has himself

I want the middle name of my upcoming child to be representative of someone who has done good int his world. I'm looking for some ideas. Don't know if it's a boy or a girl.

everyone that has said Bacon deserves a high five. I've named one of my cats that, after Francis Bacon. it's slightly more masculine but would also suit a girl - has a bit more of a postmodern feel to it.

having a name that resembles food is cool as fuck. if it was a girl you could consider Curry, after Marie Curie.
