I think people are angry cause it'll be harder to get a venue for their straight wedding and everyone would rather go to a gay one cause they're so much fun.

We recently legalized it in Ireland too and the only thing more fun than an Irish wedding is a gay Irish wedding.

Fuck yeah the craic will be mighty

So I'm flying home tomorrow and don't plan to ride another tour for a while and don't want my LHT to sit in the shed unused. Help me keep it relevant.

I'm thinking of turning it into a 90s style MTB. The geo is fairly similar and the trails around where I live are suitable for that kind of bike.

Here what I've decided so far:

Nitro Bullhorn bars (I want a set for a future ECR build anyway)
2x9 gearing (older XTR crankset and front and rear dérailleur)
Some decently wide XC tyres. What are the best canti brakes for tyre clearance? 2.3 wide would be ideal.

Can I use a single down tube shifter like Lance Armstrong used to? How would I go about that? I want a single dt shifter for the front ring cause I'll only ever use that before climbs and a rapid fire shifter for the rear cassette. I like uncluttered bars and a frame with unused dt brake ons looks shit

What's the best XTR group set that I can pick up cheaply enough from the past few years?

Yeah some of you nearly wrote a book. Really appreciate it.

I don't plan to do this for more than a year really. I just need something to do to save money to pay for more training for a longer term career. It's also been something I've always wanted to try.

So I'm nearing the end of my bike tour and have decided that this is what I want to do when I get back to Dublin. Mainly cause I want to stay as fit as I am and I don't fancy working in a kitchen again.

How exactly do I go about getting a job like this? Talk to other messengers? Throw out CVs? Maybe just rock up with a decent bike and a smile and ask for a job?

Any tips on the daily grind? Of course I'll get a decent bike sorted and some wet weather gear, and I'm pretty handy with bike maintainence.

Tell me your secrets.

Cheers for the support, ive cancelled all my cards before they could get any money. Phones insured too.  Filed a police report and have a meeting booked with a police investigator for tomorrow morning. I've a few friends here who've lent me money until i can get a new card sent out. Got to meet the irish ambassador for Malta which was nice. Cool guy.

Just pissed as i neglected to back up most of my photos.

I think she's too traumatised to even talk to us now. Not answering us on whatsapp.

He said he couldn't hold it and he just let go. She got poo water on her feet.

We both find it fucking hilarious and we're going drinking again.

Edit: the fish bbq we had earlier in the day probably didn't help either

So during a night of heavy drinking me and my new Finnish friend each  pull a girl and they happen to be best friends. So fuck it we decide to go on a 'double date' type thing the next day.

Long story short, we rented tandem kayaks, hungover Mr Finland diarrhea shits himself everywhere with the girl in the back and decided the only course of action is to sink the boat to try hide his shame.

She's not interested anymore and took her friend with her but I'm not even mad cause it was the funniest thing I've ever seen.

Regarding the handlebar choice- do sure to pick your frame size based on handlebar type. flat bar- long top tube. drop bar- short top tube. I love my Salsa Cowbells. Salsa also makes a super-flared out Woodchipper bar, and just came out with a mid-flare cowchipper, which looks awesome indeed. dirt drops are something completely different, don't confuse yourself with those.
I've never thought of that before but I guess it makes sense. How much bigger should I go for a flatcar setup? Extra 2cm?

Pretty much at the end of my tour now. Getting a ferry from sicily to Malta tomorrow. I'll do a quick tour of Malta then I'm meeting up with some cute Australian girls and partying for 2 weeks.

In other news, anyone tried a Fairdale Goodship?
