Pretty certain that wouldn't be anything covered under the normal warranty.  From the picture it appears that there was some sort of impact that caused the hole.  You can email warranty (at) odysseybmx.com and he can give you the final answer.  Might be worth sending his way just to see what he has to say.

Did you hit it on an upright on a rail or something?  That is a crazy looking hole.

I've seen a dude do this to a Hazard Lite rim by clipping the corner of a ledge real hard. He rode it for nearly two years after that just fine.

Off work today, so I dialed in my bike a little more by putting one of the sample Tree topload stems and some fresh raw 8.5" Moto bars on my SFA. Soon I'll be off to the indoor park to session everything with some awesome dudes.

In the next few days I'll have a custom Tree pivotal from James at Native (which I'm super stoked for), and I'm debating on taking my gearing up to 33-11 in the next week or so for kicks.

Can't wait, will definitely be fitting a set of the 9"x4° up on my bike. Can you cut them to 27.75 and still have threads for the barends?

Yeah, you should be able to do that no problem. The threads went in pretty far on my pair still, and thats only 3/4" difference to what mine are currently cut down to.

Ah I see, I was going to pick up a pair of Sequoias, but I might just wait for these to come out...

No word on when they'll be available for purchase yet, but if I remember, I'll ask Sam about them tomorrow. I know we took some photos of all the bars last week. More info will be out there soon.

Glad you dudes like them!

9" bars, are they out then? Or did you get some special hook up? i cant imagine 9" rise bars i cant get on with anything over 8" myself!

I started working at Tree a bit over a month ago, and was lucky enough to start just as new parts were coming in. The bars aren't out yet, but if Sam is happy with them and the dudes like everything, then things should be flowing quite soon. I snagged these sample 9"rise/4*up ones earlier today because we didn't need them for any team/photo stuff.

Where'd you get them bars?
I'm curious what the difference is between the new "Moto" bars and the Sequoia bars, because it looks like both are going to come in 8.5" rise...

I guess the most notable difference is the more traditional box shape. They aren't as tight as the Sequoias were, but thankfully they don't look like just another huge slam bar copy. They come in three sizes (8.5"x28.5", 9"x29.5, and 9.5"x30) and all of them have cut lines, come threaded for bar ends, and they are all still available in either one or four degree upsweep.

I went from uncut Sequoias, so before I went out to ride I cut my 9"s down to 28.5" wide, and chopped close to half an inch off my non-front brake forks. I only got two hours in at the park tonight, but I like the way they fit/feel on my bike so far.

Currently putting some Tree 9" bars on, along with chopping down my non-front brake forks, and then going over to the skatepark to get some riding in. Stoked.

Is there such thing as too many table tops?

Never.

I love my SFA, i got this/last years model direct from Joe. I bought it for a trails bike & have gradually been piecing it together, waiting on a cyclops stem & then im gunna get some new forks, a brake set up & probably some 8.85" T-1 bars & it'll be pretty much complete. On the other side of that ive got a Custom FBM coming which is for Flatland/Street which is worlds apart from the long, stable & smooth feeling SFA.

PS.. Bike Check! :)

That sounds so badass, man! Joe has always been awesome whenever I've purchased frames/etc. from him in the past, and this time was no different. I'm super pumped to have another T1 frame with welded mounts, and to have supported one of the best dudes in bmx. A bike check may happen soon, depending on when I can get out my camera.

^ You got the Tan SFA right? Saw a set up on T-1s FB pages super similar to your bike with the new SFA frame, so i kinda guessed it was yours :)

Haha! Yeah, that was me. Early monday morning I was just minutes away from placing an order for a tan one through blackout, but I decided to check T1's website first for the freaky-friday update. I'm super thankful that I did, because this thing to me is one beauty of a bmx bike.

I decided to refresh most of my bike over the last three weeks. Just this week I received a new frame, new sprocket, and a badass fat seat. Today I put on some new front hub collars, re-greased my freecoaster, and I'm about to put a nokon cable on my front brakes with some jaguar inner housing. I'm so stoked on dialing things in again!

Just put a new 29t Lite sprocket on my bike. It was just sitting in a semi-local shop for quite a while until Tree recently bought it back, bored it out to 15/16ths, and then sold it to me. I know its not the coolest thing, but I always thought the old american made ones were the most badass, so I'm pumped on having one on my bike again.

I'm currently looking at it wondering if its time to put the coaster/fronties back on..

Then I'm riding the park with it regardless of the outcome.

^ That looks amazing, with that stem it looks better than a flush counterbore.

Thanks! I really love how this stem looks, especially when matched with a Tree cap. It could be sitting totally flush if I trim my forks down a little bit. I'm real lazy about that though, so it'll probably stay this way for a while.
