Steely Dan has been my new favorite band lately. And I've been listening to the new Bayside album, Cult.

I also made a few songs with my guitar and my phone, I'd appreciate if you guys told me if they suck or not.

You guys suck. I haven't even had winter. I think I got frost on my windshield one morning.

This has nothing to do with the quote I quoted but are catching Bane and Backtrack in April? I'm thinking of buying tickets to one of the shows at Chain Reaction, but you live near Sacramento right? I just moved to to the Antelope Valley like 6 months ago and I've finally been going to some shows. I saw Gaslight Anthem and Against Me back in September and just saw Bayside and Senses Fail this weekend in West Hollywood.

That would be sweet to see you at a show or something.

Yea, I got tickets to the show in Berkley. Crazy to think that Bane isn't going to be around anymore. I'm not too into Backtrack I don't think.

Well, it's their last record but I haven't seen anything official saying it's their last tour. I like Backtrack, they're a bit cliche but I like the guy's voice. Not too bad, I'm mostly wanting to see them because Bane is there haha. And it's Chain Reaction so it's almost like a mythical venue to me. Gotta go basically.

Lucky bastard! I've wanted to see them for a while now. How was it?

They were so awesome, I pretty much went for Bayside but Senses Fail blew me away basically. Played some classics and a lot of the heavier new stuff. So good.

Good to see the place get cleaned up a bit.

The huge threads would be exhausting to go through from the start, I don't see why it's a big deal to start them fresh? And there are more appropriate places to share your pictures of half-naked ladies, is it really worth whining about? I feel like a lot of people are power tripping a little bit since things were changed and they weren't consulted first.

Some people like to look through old threads, some might have bookmarks for certain bits of information etc. Just because you see no use in it does not make it useless.

That's true, and I totally get that. But if it's for the better of the site, it's worth sacrificing. Especially now, I feel like people are more inclined to jump into the automotive thread or something similar since it's like a new conversation. They won't feel out of the loop on something that happened 8 pages back.

The Bike Shop / Re: What did you do to your bike today? (v2)

I swapped the frame, cranks, bars, brakes and pedals onto the federal I had and now I'm using that for my primary bike while I get ready to paint my other frame/bar/forks.

The bearings went in my 9th wheel so I switched to 36/13 on these old Alex wheels that came with the federal complete long ago. The only issue is that the frame I'm using wont fit much over 28t without having a terrible chainline. This is my life now.

The clearance isn't as bad as it could be but I don't have a spacer that gets it any closer without touching.

That federal foundation ;) always wanted one so bad

The dropouts are giant on the frame, like two inches deep. The frame itself feels around a modern 5.5 pounds, cool little bike.

Was waiting for some parts to come in the mail yesterday and broke down and rebuilt this old Federal from the garage. It's ride-able and comfortable, but the cranks have a strange wobble. I think the crank bosses are a little loose and with each pedal, they shift about a quarter inch back and forth. Otherwise, really solid.
