The Bike Shop / Re: aluminum bb spacer idea thingy

Apart from being terrible for your BB bearings (which are radial, not thrust or ACB, i.e. engineered for axial loads), not running a tube spacer will lead to your sprocket bolt coming undone, and your spindle bolts too if you don't have pinchbolt cranks. One of the subtle things that 99/100 people don't realise, like how most hub wobble in hubs with a 14mm or 3/8" axle is caused by non-parallel dropouts or exploded driver bearings being caused by the bearing shoulder on the axle not being a right angle but instead a curve

Mid bearing outer diameter: 41.275mm
Spanish outer diam: 37mm

A lot closer in weight than you suggest. Add in a 2.1375mm cup (with lip to locate the bearing) and the weight loss (for the MIDDLE of your bike where rotational weight is 1:1 not 2:1 or 1.5:1) and you're really not acheiving anything but overly complicating things for yourself, paying money and/or spending time on a machine

Socal might be jarring if you are used to Wisconsin. Norcal is still hella clement

Whia you live in the sky

If you aren't dead set on that setup and would consider alternatives, check out some of the things you find in Japanese micro apartments

I wouldn't know about trading, well, anything. I don't know that my mate had a clue either, he was just always on the bleeding edge of tech and bought into it for the hell of it as opposed to a planned investment. Luck just happened to go his way.

Here in Australia the one market on everyone's mind seems to be real estate

Sorry Kirk I was only japing. Truth be told a friend of mine bought in on BC when it was first public, and made plenty off of it.

Is it true that this isn't one of those shady pyramid schemes we've all heard about? And is, in fact, a trapezoid model?

Whilst they mention shock absorption first, they are taking tiny elastic deformation of the hubshell super seriously.

http://www.gokiso.jp/en/products/hub_02.html

About 2/3rds of the way down they talk about deformation of the bearings as a consequence of hubshell deformation

If it was on Sheldon Brown's site it'd probably be presented like this:
