just got a 98k, sweet rifle accurate got a new stock, sight hood, sling i wouldnt buy one made after 1942 as they tend to be a little crude or not made in the mauser factory at all. probably better than the mosin in every way. the stock was terrible and soaked with that cosmoline that russians put on them after they were captured. but it couldnt be any better now picked 1 out of like 30 rifles no pitting in the rifling or wear at all, i remember my brothers nagant had terrible pitting and the diameter of the muzzle was like 2x width of the bullet, i guess the carbine version is nice though but has a decent amount of recoil.

would profile still make harware for the v1? i had feeling i need shims, they couldnt make it more difficult to get them though, they dont sell them on profile's site. i figure if the inside of the hubshell is the same size/ bearings seats that the mini hardware might fit.

i have the early version of the pilot front hub; my question is would the internals for the mini front hub fit in the v1 hubshell? the hardware on my front hub seen better days and i dont think they make the old hardware anymore. and in the cassette hub there were very thin shims behind the bearings (madera v2) their bent up now are these neccasary for the hub? i read on profile's site there just to compensate for the axles length.
