As long as you only send me the barrel and slide, yes.

I'd go with the Glock 22 and if you REALLY want to shoot 9mm, just swap the barrel and magazine out and you're good to go. It doesn't work the other way around though as far as I know. Now you basically have a G17 & G22

Take all the fun out of it. I wanted to ship a gun lol, Btw its gonna be 3rd gen

Couch and yacqueli

It's down to the Glock 17 and Glock 22, I just can't decide on caliber. Couch when I get my glock can you mill the barrel like yours?

I would honestly suggest making an account on GlockTalk.  GlockTalk - Caliber Corner is a perfect place for that.  Not that you'll get bad answers on here but there's people on there that eat, sleep and breathe this stuff.

Ya im checking that forum out. It puts bg to shame lol. What section is the best to start looking, since I am a new gun owner.

PBR, You should check out GlockTalk.  There's a ton of knowledgeable (as well as not so knowledgeable) people.  The only advice I can give on a G17 is to stick to a Gen3 for now. Some people are having issues with the new Gen4 G17's.

Glocktalk is a solid forum!

Im not set on 9mm as couch pointed out its based on what I can get. Can some one explain the calibers to me? I know glocks come in about 7 different calibers.

Help reduce muzzle rise and get you on your target quicker. IDK, ask adamtnet. He'll probably come in here and tell us we're wrong anyways.

I have a Glock 27 and I love it. Its a .40S&W

Unless you're buying twenty boxes at a time the price difference between 9mm, .40S&W, .54ACP isn't going to be that big of a difference. If you can, go with something bigger than 9mm. Proper shot placement is key, however there's no real reason not to go with something with a little more power. The Glock 17's are great firearms. All of the Glocks are. Anyone that says different either hasn't shot one or simply has their head up their ass. They don't fit everyone's hands, but no gun does. You said you love it though so it obviously fits your hands. Go to the range and rent the same size in different calibers then make the call.

ok couch whats the difference between g17 and g17c?

it really doesnt matter what i think or what other people think.
You need to go to a range and rent  a few 9mms in your price range and shoot them all. and go with what ever feels good in your hands. Dont just buy  a glock because its a glock. you need to buy what feels good.

Very valid point. I have shot with the g17 before and to be honest I love the gun. Is it worth trying out different Calibers in the glock family. I want something for home defense as well as target practice.

on a side note any places for cheap ammo? I could use several hundred rounds of 7.62x54r preferably surplus.

So I am awaiting my FOID card and I am pondering my first purchase. What do you guys think about a Glock, G17 model to be specific. I know that 9mm will be the cheapest round to buy out of what glocks can handle.
