Midrange, nothing crazy.  Mainly go plinking with it now, would like to start taking it hunting soon however.

Hold off, save your money, and just buy an ACOG.  Great optic for an AR, IMO.  Especially the 4x magnification for "mid-range" and out.

Can't find anything else much more durable.

Thanks for all the advice doods. My friend also has a fucking Tech-9 that might be for sale, maybe i'll try and aquire that... Haha.

If its a pre ban tec-9 I would buy it for fun, if its post ban I would pass.  I have a tec-22 pre ban.  It looks cool, but its a piece of shit.  Masterpiece Arms is the only way to go for a heavy, shitty, reliable but fun UZI looking gun...unless you actually want an UZI but youd be dropping 2-3k for a complete one with box, barrels, stock, etc.

AR guys - any recommendations on reasonably priced optics?

Want to get something for my AR15.  All I'm running right now is the rear magpul flip-up sight.  Looking for something decent but doesn't need to be crazy money.  Durability would be preferred.

Range you want to be able to see targets/shoot out to?

Anyone on here own a Mauser? They seem like awesome rifles

Mauser made thousands of different rifles for just about every country, which are you talking about?

I own 2 nazi marked WWII 8x57 mm mauser K98 rifles, one commercial Mauser pre WWII .22LR and one pre WWII Chilean mauser in 7x57 mauser.

Anyone have experience with Kahr?

The polymer ones are nice and light, over priced.

The full steel ones are amazing.  Probably the smoothest (long) DA trigger pull on a carry gun I have ever felt...and I've pulled the trigger on every gun on the market in a store with over 5k in stock.

The left round is spam can x54r, the right one is romanian.

The split neck rounds were PROBABLY split before you shot them and you did now know it.

Take apart the bolt completely, clean it.  Check the primer depth on all your rounds and check for splits/cracks, even tiny one, in the neck near the crimp.

Picked up a Gen 4 G23, i love it so far, 500 flawless rounds.  Thinking of picking up a Springfield Trophy Match 1911, any thoughts?

My favorite handgun.

Relax those elbows buddy, you'll hit better!

I decided on a 442 or 642 (whatever I can find first). I called 3 different local shops looking for one without an internal lock. The first said they can't get one anytime soon, the second asked if it just came out, and the third said they didn't exsist without the lock.

Get a model 60, you cant go wrong.

I've looked at all those. I will not buy or trust Keltec or Taurus, and the bodyguard .380 would be at the top of my list if it didn't have a safety and an exposed hammer. As for the LCP, it's sold out everywhere locally.

The shop I worked at had at least 25 LCP in stock at a time, with and without crimson trace/Laser lyte from factory.

I agree its the best, the bodyguard is more solid and has real sights, but they're still too small to use and its a point and shoot belly gun.  I hate the laser activation on the BG380.

why do rounds do this? i notiiced a had a few in my box of tulane (sp?) russian ammo from wal mart...

what would you recommend as far as a scope (what do you use for 100 yards?), or bigger mags?
also, what would a bipod run me, and are they easily detachable?

thanks

I must be lucky, but I only shoot shitty ammo and NEVER have FTF/FTE in my AR, Glock, XD, 1911...

Harris bipods are by far the nicest but you will pay for it.  I have one and love it.  I would get the 6 inch closed that goes to 9 inch fully extended, you wont need any bigger and any smaller wont let you shoot from a bench with a 30rd mag in because the mag will hit.

For a scope, 3-9x40 is the all around BEST mag choice, notice how I said all around.  If you're trying to shoot 100 yards and see the holes, youll probably have to go bigger, but you should have a nice spotting scope for that on a NICE tripod next to you.

Redfield has GREAT glass, its a less expensive Leupold.  If you can, VX3 Leupold 3-9x40 is great as well.  Don't get a 50 objective, its too big and a bitch to mount low on most firearms.

I personally think that Leupold is the best for the money, but I have shot the Nikon Pro staff, buckmark and Mark AR series and they're great as well.

I also bought a $50 scope from cabelas, comes with a lifetime warranty, and shot the shit out of it (it held zero and was clear) then when it broke a few months later I returned it for a new one.  I've done that twice and still only spent $50.

It comes down to being relative to what you personally can afford and what you put into the rifle.

I'm confident that at 50-100 yards, with my rifle, I could shoot just as well with a Truglo 3-9x40 as I could with a Nightforce 9-18x50.

I forgot about rings, buy nice rings no matter what, I believe they're equally as important if not more important as the scope, if it doesn't hold well its probably the rings failure, not the glass.

Rant over.

It depends on the market/what is around them.  The cabelas I worked at had a giant family owned gun store nearby, so the prices were in check.  If you buy something on a sale it will be an alright price.  Do they have used guns?  If so do that.  Or buy sale ammo.
